5 Flucel 250mg Injection contains the active ingredient Fluorouracil. It is an anti-cancer medication that treats cancer in the bowel, oesophagus, pancreas, stomach, head, neck, and breast. It may be used with other anti-cancer medicines and radiotherapy.
Nausea, vomiting, and bone marrow suppression are the most frequently occurring side effects associated with 5 Flucel 250mg Injection. Ensure that your physician conducts blood tests for you during and after this treatment to check the level of cells in your blood. Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have undergone surgery in the last 30 days or if you are following a controlled sodium diet.
If you're a male trying to become a father, you're advised to use contraception for up to 3 months after the treatment. Talk to your physician regarding sperm conservation before starting the treatment, as this 5 Flucel 250mg Injection might cause irreversible infertility.

5 Flucel 250mg injection gets activated after undergoing a series of enzymatic reactions. It forms a complex and interferes with DNA and RNA synthesis and function. This process affects the rapidly-growing cancer cells and inhibits cell growth.

Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
5 Flucel 250mg Injection is not advised during pregnancy. Consult your doctor if you think you're pregnant or are planning to get pregnant. Effective contraception is advised to be taken during the treatment and up to 6 months after the treatment. In case of pregnancy during the treatment, consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding:
Breastfeeding during treatment with 5 Flucel 250mg Injection is unsafe. Consult your physician regarding breastfeeding before starting the treatment.
Liver:
Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you have liver disease. Your physician will monitor your liver functions and prescribe accordingly.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before starting treatment with 5 Flucel 250mg Injection if you have kidney diseases. Your physician will monitor your kidney functions and prescribe accordingly.
Driving:
Avoid driving or using machinery if you experience side effects like nausea, vomiting, or visual changes.
Allergies:
Inform your physician if you experience allergic reactions to Fluorouracil or its ingredients.
Others:
Inform your doctor in case:
- You know that you have no dihydropyrimidine dehydrogenase enzyme activity (complete DPD deficiency).
- You have heart problems, bleeding, gastric issues, oral ulcers, or fever.
Side Effects:
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Severe chest pain
- ECG abnormalities
- Anemia
- Severe allergic reactions
- Blood in stool
- Mouth sores
