Abtmed 250mg uses to :

• Treatment of prostate cancer

Abtmed 250mg Tablet works by inhibiting the production of hormone testosterone in the body. This can slow the growth of prostate cancer. 

Taking Abtmed 250mg Tablet (abiraterone acetate) with any of the following medicines can change the effect of either of them and may increase the risk of side effects.

Amiodarone, Disopyramide, or other antiarrhythmic medicines (Oral/Injection Route) Life-threatening
Avoid using together unless strictly advised.
Concomitant use may increase the risk of serious heart rhythm disturbances, especially in patients with low potassium levels.

Artemether (Oral/Injection Route) Life-threatening
Do not use together.
This combination may increase the risk of dangerous heart rhythm problems.

Certain antipsychotic medicines such as Ziprasidone or Mesoridazine (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Avoid concomitant use.
Taking these medicines together may increase the chance of severe irregular heartbeat.

Saquinavir or similar antiviral medicines (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Do not use together unless advised by a doctor.
This combination may increase the risk of heart rhythm abnormalities.

Phenobarbital or Primidone (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Avoid using together.
These medicines may reduce the blood levels of abiraterone and decrease its anticancer effect.

Mifepristone (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Do not use together.
Concomitant use may increase the risk of serious heart rhythm problems.

• This medicine does not require any particular storage condition.

• Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Abtmed 250mg Tablet medicine should always be consumed as per the direction of your physician or pharmacist. The drug should be taken by mouth. It should not be taken with food. Swallow the tablets whole with water without breaking them. Food must be eaten at least 2 hours before taking the medication and must not be eaten for at least 1 hour after taking the medicine. Women who are pregnant or who may become pregnant should not touch this medication without gloves. Abtmed tablet dosage is decided by the Doctor based on age and Other factors.

Abtmed 250mg side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medical treatment. Although all medicines can cause side effects, everyone will not get them. 

Serious:

• Low blood potassium levels (muscle weakness, muscle twitches, or pounding heartbeat)

Common

• Fluid in legs or feet

• Low blood potassium

• High blood pressure

• Urinary tract infection

• Diarrhea

• High-fat levels in the blood

• Chest pain

• Irregular heartbeat

• Rapid heart rate

• Bone fracture

• Indigestion

• Blood in urine

• Rash

• Inform your doctor if you have liver problems, high blood pressure, heart disorders, diabetes, or are taking medicines for other conditions.

• Take the tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• This medicine should be taken on an empty stomach.

• Do not take it with food, and swallow the tablet whole with water without breaking or crushing it.

• Eat food at least 2 hours before taking the tablet and wait at least 1 hour after the dose before eating again.

• Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, potassium levels, and liver function tests during treatment.
