Amlodac CH Tablets is a combination medication that contains two active ingredients, Amlodipine and Chlorthalidone. This combination is primarily used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure and certain types of chest pain (angina). Chlorthalidone is a diuretic commonly called a "water pill." It helps remove excess salt and water from the body by increasing urine production. By combining two medications with different mechanisms of action, lower doses of each drug may be used, reducing the likelihood of experiencing side effects associated with higher doses of a single medication. This can enhance tolerability and improve overall patient compliance with the treatment.

You should not take this medication if you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Amlodac CH Tablets or related medications. This medication is unsuitable for individuals with severe heart conditions, such as aortic stenosis or cardiogenic shock. These conditions require careful evaluation by a healthcare professional. Caution should be exercised in individuals with hypotension or those at risk of developing low blood pressure. This medication is primarily eliminated from the body through the liver and kidneys. Individuals with impaired liver or kidney function may require dosage adjustments or close monitoring while taking this combination. Chlorthalidone can cause electrolyte imbalances, including low potassium, sodium, and magnesium levels. Amlodac CH Tablets cause some side effects like all medications, although not everyone will experience them. 

Serious:

• Severe allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, difficulty breathing)
• Rapid or irregular heartbeat
• Swelling of the hands, ankles, or feet
• Worsening chest pain (in individuals with pre-existing heart conditions)
• Severe dehydration
• Electrolyte imbalances (low potassium or sodium levels)
• Signs of liver dysfunction (yellowing of the skin or eyes, dark urine)

Common:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Flushing
• Swelling of the ankles or feet (peripheral edema)
• Fatigue or tiredness
• Low potassium levels (hypokalemia)
• Low sodium levels (hyponatremia)
• Increased urination

Before taking these medications, inform your healthcare provider about any allergies, medical conditions, or medications you are currently taking.
