Introduction to Amlodac D Tablet
Amlodac D Tablet is an antihypertensive medication belonging to the calcium channel blockers and thiazide diuretics category, containing the active ingredient Amlodipine, Indapamide. This combination of medications is commonly used to treat hypertension. It is a chronic condition characterized by persistently high blood pressure levels. If the condition is left untreated or uncontrolled, it can increase the chance of cardiovascular problems, including heart attacks and strokes. This tablet is often prescribed when a single medication alone is ineffective in controlling blood pressure.
This medicine can affect uric acid levels in the body. It can increase uric acid levels, a risk factor for gout(a form of arthritis due to the excess deposition of uric acid crystals, especially in the joints, leading to swelling, pain, and inflammation). If you have a medical history of gout or are more likely to develop gout, discussing this with your doctor before taking this drug is necessary. They may suggest alternative medications and adjust the dosage to minimize the impact on uric acid levels. This medicine should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to its components. Some individuals may experience increased sensitivity to sunlight (photosensitivity) while taking this drug. It is highly suggested to wear protective clothing and sunscreen when exposed to sunlight.

Indapamide is a diuretic that removes excess amounts of water and certain electrolytes from the body by increasing urine production. Together it not only relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow but also help to eliminate excess fluid from the body, thereby reducing the volume of circulating blood and further aiding in blood pressure control.
