Introduction to Apremac 125mg/80mg Capsule

Aprecap 125mg/80mg capsule contains the active constituent Aprepitant in two different doses. It belongs to a class of medicines called NK1 Receptor antagonists. It is used with a combination of other medicine to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (cancer treatment) in adults and children of twelve years and older. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to this medicine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. 

Before taking Aprecap 125mg/80mg capsule, it is important to inform your physician about all the medications you are taking recently, including supplements and herbal medicines. Notify your doctor if you planning a pregnancy or think you might be pregnant because this medicine is unsafe to use in such conditions. This medication may reduce the efficacy of hormonal contraceptives. Talk with your doctor about alternative birth control options. Before taking this capsule, inform your doctor if you have liver disorders because the liver is crucial in breaking down medicine.  

The doctor may therefore have to monitor the condition of the liver. Notify your doctor if you have had any allergic conditions or other diseases. Indigestion, tiredness, headache, hiccups, and loss of appetite are the common side effects of Aprecap 125mg/80mg medication. Talk to your doctor if you have an intolerance to some sugars as this medication contains sucrose. Do not give this medicine to children under 12 years of age, because the medicines have not been studied in this population.

  • Prevents nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy

Therapeutic Effects of Apremac 125mg/80mg Capsule

Aprecap 125mg/80mg capsule blocks the action of a natural substance called neurokinin in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting. This medicine reduces the severity of chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting.


Interaction of Apremac 125mg/80mg Capsule with other drugs

Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications, such as Pimpzide, Terfenadine, and Cisapride may interact with Aprecap 125mg/80mg and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to consume Apremac 125mg/80mg Capsule

Swallow the Aprecap 125mg/80mg capsule as a whole with water. Do not crush or chew the capsules. These capsules can be taken with or without food. Do not take more than recommended. If this medicine is prescribed, your physician will choose the dosage based on your medical condition because it differs for each person.
