Caboprost 250mg Injection contains the active constituent carboprost tromethamine. It is used to stop the excessive bleeding due to the womb failing to return to its normal size in women who have just given birth. Talk to your doctor if you have lung disorders (asthma), high or low blood pressure, heart disorders, glaucoma (raised pressure in your eyes), diabetes, epilepsy, liver disorders, kidney disorders, or had any operation on your womb before taking this medicine. Administration of this medicine may lead to an increase in temperature and bronchoconstriction. Your physician may give other medications to lower this medication's common side effects, such as diarrhea or nausea.

Caboprost 250mg Injection is a synthetic prostaglandin. It increases the contraction of the womb, which helps to control bleeding after delivery.

How to use Caboprost 250mg Injection :
It will be given intramuscularly to you by your health care professional.
Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
It will only be given shortly after you have delivered your baby and not while you are still pregnant as it could put the embryo or foetus at risk.
Breastfeeding:
It is not known if this medicine is excreted in breast milk. And since prostaglandins are produced by your body during childbirth, is not expected to cause any harm to your baby
Liver:
It is essential to inform if you have any liver disorders before taking Caboprost 250mg Injection.
Kidney:
It is essential to inform if you have any kidney disorders before taking Caboprost 250mg Injection.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medical treatment. Although all medicines can cause side effects, everyone will not get them.
Serious:
- Decreases in maternal arterial oxygen content
- Gasping syndrome
- Bronchoconstriction
- Slow heart rate
Common:
- Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting
- Increased body temperature, Chills
- Headache
- Flushing
- Coughing
- Bleeding from the uterus
- Retained placenta or membranes
- Inflammation of the uterus
