Introduction to Cprostin Injection

Cprostin Injection contains an active component called carboprost tromethamine. This medicine belongs to a group of prostaglandins. It is used to treat postpartum (after giving birth) bleeding caused by atony of the uterus (soft and weak uterus after childbirth) in women. It is not a self-administered medicine; your doctor will decide the dosage of the drug based on your health history under proper monitoring of your health condition.

Consult your doctor if you are allergic to carboprost tromethamine or any ingredients, and inform your doctor if you have acute pelvic inflammatory disease. Consult your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant or while breastfeeding because it is contraindicated for pregnant women. The safety and effectiveness of children and the elderly are not established. They are also contraindicated for patients with heart, liver, lung, and kidney problems, diabetes, jaundice, anemia, problems in blood pressure, and epilepsy. Consult your doctor before taking this medication.

Therapeutic Effects of Cprostin Injection

Cprostin injection makes the uterus contract (womb). It's used to start labor or help the placenta come out. Prostaglandins are natural body chemicals that make muscles in the uterus squeeze. This medicine plays the role of prostaglandin.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with cprostin injection and can cause undesirable side effects.

How to consume Cprostin Injection

This medicine is given only in a hospital setup by a healthcare provider. Cprostin injection will be given to you by your doctor.
