Cytax 260mg Injection is a chemotherapy medication containing the active constituent paclitaxel. It is used to treat breast cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, and AIDS (Acquired Immuno-Deficiency Syndrome) related Kaposi’s sarcoma. This medication may also be used to treat cancers in the cervix, bladder, skin, and esophagus. Cancer is a condition in which cells are dividing and growing fast and in an uncontrolled manner. This medicine is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18.
Cytax 260mg Injection may be given alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines. This chemotherapy medication is contraindicated in patients with severe liver problems, uncontrolled infection, and low white blood cell or platelet count. Talk to your doctor if you have heart disorders before taking this medicine.
Administration of this medicine may cause serious allergic reactions. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least six months after the last dose. Cytax 260mg Injection may be harmful to the patients suffering from alcoholism as this medicine contains alcohol.
Uses of Cytax 260mg Injection:
- Cancers in the breast, ovary, bladder, cervix, skin, and esophagus
- Non-small cell lung cancer
- AIDS-related Kaposi’s sarcoma
How Cytax 260mg Injection works:
Cytax 260mg Injection inhibits the microtubule structures present in the cell. Microtubule structures help cancer cells to divide and multiply. Inhibition of these structures slows the growth of cancer cells.

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

- Store at controlled room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.

It will be given to you by a doctor or nurse.
Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
Cytax 260mg Injection can harm your unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medication.
Breastfeeding:
Stop breastfeeding during the treatment with Cytax 260mg Injection. Consult your doctor for potential risks.
Liver:
It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver disorders. Inform your doctor if you have any liver disorders before taking Cytax 260mg Injection.
Driving:
The alcohol present in Cytax 260mg Injection may affect your ability to drive. Avoid driving if you feel unwell.
Others:
- Inform your doctor if you have heart disorders, uncontrolled infection, or alcohol addiction.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Serious allergic reactions (rash, swelling of face, lips, throat, or tongue, trouble breathing, and swallowing)
- Severe diarrhea
- Severe stomach pain
Common:
- Anemia, feeling tired
- Hair loss
- Burning, tingling, or numbness in your feet or hands
- Muscle and joint pain
- Vomiting, nausea
- Mouth or lip sores
- Infections
- Swelling of hands, feet, and face
- Bleeding
- Irritation at the injection site
- Low blood pressure
