Introduction
Eltrojas 25mg Tablet is an anticoagulant drug belonging to the thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist category, containing the active ingredient Eltrombopag. It treats low platelet counts caused by primary immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) or hepatitis C (HCV) infection, which aligns with Eltrojas 25mg Tablet uses in clinical practice. ITP is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system destroys platelets, which are essential for clotting and protecting blood vessel walls. When platelet levels are low, it can result in severe bleeding and bruising. This tablet is also used in adults to treat low blood counts caused by severe aplastic anaemia, a condition where the bone marrow fails to produce enough new blood cells.
Eltrojas 25mg Tablet Price can vary by location and pharmacy, and many patients ask about it during consultations. For the most accurate pricing, it’s best to check with local pharmacies or online sources.
This medicine should not be used in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to the drug or its components. Allergic reactions can range from mild to severe and may include symptoms such as rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, or difficulty breathing. Eltrojas 25mg Tablet is contraindicated in patients with severe liver impairment or active liver disease. The drug can potentially cause hepatotoxicity, as indicated by increased liver enzymes and bilirubin levels. Using this drug in individuals with severe liver disease can worsen liver function, so caution is advised. Your doctor may recommend checking for cataracts and arrange regular eye tests if necessary. You may also be checked for bleeding in or around your retina (the light-sensitive layer of cells at the back of the eye).
If you stop taking this tablet, your platelet count is likely to drop again within several days. The platelet count will be monitored, and your doctor will discuss appropriate precautions. A very high blood platelet count may increase the risk of blood clotting. However, blood clots can form even with normal or low platelet counts. Your doctor will adjust your dosage to prevent your platelet count from becoming too high.
Eltrojas 25mg Tablet dosage is determined by your doctor based on your individual medical condition. It’s essential to follow the prescribed dosage closely to avoid complications. Do not take this tablet with dairy products or dairy drinks, as the calcium in these products can affect the absorption of the medicine.
Use effective birth control during treatment, and if you become pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Eltrojas 25mg Tablet is not recommended for children under one year who have ITP, nor is it advised for patients under 18 with low platelet counts caused by hepatitis C or severe aplastic anaemia. Always inform your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take other medications, including over-the-counter medicines and vitamins. Eltrojas 25 price is same across all the locations.
