Eylea injection uses include:

• Neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD)
• Diabetic macular edema (DME)
• Myopic choroidal neovascularization (myopic CNV)
• Macular edema secondary to retinal vein occlusion

Eylea medication works by binding to and blocking the activity of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF). This protein can cause abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage in the eye, leading to vision loss. By inhibiting the activity of VEGF, this medication can help reduce abnormal blood vessel growth and leakage and improve vision in some people with these eye conditions.

Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Eylea 40mg/ml Injection and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

• Store in a refrigerator at 2-8°C.
• Do not freeze.
• Protected from light.
• Keep it in its original packaging until it is ready to be used.
• Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
• Should be disposed of properly.

A healthcare provider will follow the Eylea Injection procedure around the eye in a clinical setting. The eylea injection dose and frequency of infusions will vary depending on the patient's medical condition, age, weight, and other factors such as eylea for macular degeneration. A person should not take a double dose to make up the second dose.

Like all medications, eylea injections for macular degeneration can cause some side effects, although not every person who takes it will experience them. 

Serious:

• Blood clots or stroke
• Heart attack
• Severe bleeding or hemorrhage
• Gastrointestinal perforation (a hole in the stomach or intestine)
• Severe infections
• Hypertensive crisis (a sudden and severe increase in blood pressure)

Common:

• Eye pain, irritation, or redness
• Blurred vision
• Increased tear production
• Sensitivity to light
• Headache
• High blood pressure
• Nasal congestion
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Back pain
• Joint pain

For pregnant individuals planning to conceive or breastfeeding, it is essential to consult with your healthcare provider to discuss the potential risks and benefits associated with the treatment. Patients with diabetic retinopathy should be closely monitored during treatment because this medication can worsen the condition.
