Uses of Fosaport 150mg Injection
Fosaport 150mg Injection is used in the treatment of the following:
- Acute and delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of highly emetogenic cancer chemotherapy (HEC), including high-dose cisplatin.
- Delayed nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of moderately emetogenic cancer chemotherapy (MEC).
Therapeutic Effects of Fosaport 150mg Injection
Fosaport 150mg Injection works by being converted into aprepitant, a selective antagonist of neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptors in the brain. It blocks substance P from binding to these receptors, preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). Aprepitant also enhances the effectiveness of other antiemetic drugs, such as ondansetron and dexamethasone, inhibiting both the acute and delayed phases of emesis caused by chemotherapy agents like cisplatin.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, vitamin or nutritional supplements, and herbal products that you are taking or have taken before the Fosaport 150mg Injection.
