Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection contains human hepatitis B immunoglobulin. It is used to protect against hepatitis B virus infection in adults and children. Hepatitis B virus is a virus that damages your liver, and gradually the virus can stop the liver from working properly. This medicine is usually given if you have been accidentally exposed to blood from an infected person, and to newborn babies born to mothers having hepatitis B virus.
It is also given if your previous hepatitis B vaccination has not worked, after sexual exposure to persons with infection, after a liver transplant, and if you are having kidney dialysis (waiting for a hepatitis B vaccination to be fully effective). Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection should not be used if you suffer from any blood disorders, which involve blood clotting or if you are known to have antibodies to immunoglobulin A.
Talk to your doctor if you have high blood pressure, blood disorders, diabetes, recently had or about to have any vaccinations before taking Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection. It is normally given with hepatitis B vaccine.

When Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection is given to you or your child, the body’s natural defenses make antibodies that help to protect against hepatitis B virus infection.

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

- Keep Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection out of sight and reach of children.
- Store in a refrigerator at 2°C – 8°C. Do not freeze.

Safety advice:
Pregnancy:
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection. It will be given to you if clearly needed.
Breastfeeding:
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection. It will be given to you if clearly needed.
Kidney:
You need to tell your doctor if you have any kidney disorders before taking Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection. Your doctor will monitor your kidney condition before starting the treatment.
Others:
- Talk to your doctor if you have blood clot disorders, or if you are known to have antibodies to immunoglobulin A.
- This medicine may affect certain vaccines from working properly, especially MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) and varicella (chickenpox) vaccines. You may need to receive these vaccines again if you received Hepatect CP 2000IU Injection within 3 months of receiving these vaccines.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Common:
- Headache, dizziness
- Injection site reactions (redness, pain, swelling)
- Joint pain
- Nausea
