Introduction
Hyposted 2.5mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Midodrine. This medication is primarily used to treat low blood pressure (hypotension). It belongs to a class of drugs known as alpha-1 adrenergic agonists, which constrict blood vessels and increase blood pressure.
Hyposted 2.5mg Tablet is commonly prescribed for conditions such as orthostatic hypotension, a form of low blood pressure that occurs when standing up from a seated or lying position. It helps to improve symptoms such as lightheadedness, dizziness, and fainting associated with this condition.
This medication should be used cautiously in individuals with severe kidney impairment or end-stage renal disease. Dosing adjustments may be necessary to prevent the accumulation of the drug or its metabolites.
You should not take the medication if you have a known allergy or hypersensitivity to Midodrine or its components. Before taking it, talk to your doctor if you have difficulty in urinating, cardiac diseases, eye problems resulting from diabetes, tumours in the adrenal glands, enlarged prostate, severe kidney disease, high blood pressure, slow pulse, and thyroid disorders.
Hyposted 2.5mg Tablet should not be used in individuals with severe heart conditions, such as unstable angina, congestive heart failure, or recent myocardial infarction (heart attack). The medication can increase cardiac workload and may not be well-tolerated in these cases.
