Introduction
Lenmid 10mg Capsule belongs to a group of medicines known as immunomodulatory agents and contains the active ingredient lenalidomide. It is used to treat adults with multiple myeloma, mantle cell lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, and follicular lymphoma. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer in which abnormal plasma cells grow and multiply uncontrollably in the bone marrow, leading to weakened bones and reduced blood cell production. Although this condition cannot be completely cured, treatment helps manage symptoms and slow disease progression.
Myelodysplastic syndrome is a group of disorders in which the bone marrow produces abnormal blood cells that do not function properly. Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare cancer that affects the lymph nodes, while follicular lymphoma is a slow-growing cancer of the B cells in the immune system.
Common side effects of Lenmid 10mg Capsule include nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, muscle cramps, tiredness, fever, cough, headache, back pain, breathlessness, skin rashes, and thyroid or skin-related problems. Inform your doctor if any of these effects become troublesome or continue for a long time.
Tell your physician if you have had allergic reactions to this medicine or its ingredients, and share your medical history, especially if you have experienced blood clots, a heart attack, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or if you smoke.
Also, inform your doctor about viral infections such as hepatitis B, shingles, or HIV. Regular blood tests are required before and during treatment, as this medicine may lower blood cell counts. Lenmid 10mg Capsule is not recommended for children below 18 years of age.

How Lenmid 10mg Capsule Works
Lenmid 10mg Capsule activates T cells and natural killer cells of the immune system and facilitates the attack on cancer cells. It works by antagonizing the growth of blood vessels in the cancer cells and delays the development of cancer cells. It inhibits growth and multiplication of tumor cells.
Interaction of Lenmid 10mg Capsule with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medicines, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, or herbal products that you are taking or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Lenmid 10mg Capsule and cause undesirable side effects.
Storage Conditions
Store between 15°C to 30°C.
Keep the capsules away from the sight and reach of children.
How to take Lenmid 10mg Capsule
Swallow the capsule whole with water. This capsule shall be consumed with or without food. Avoid crushing, chewing or breaking them.
Safety Advice for Lenmid 10mg Capsule
Breast Feeding
Lenmid 10mg Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding as it is not known if this medication passes into breast milk and harms your baby.
Alcohol
It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol while taking Lenmid 10mg Capsule. Consult your doctor for advice.
Liver
Inform your physician before starting treatment with Lenmid 10mg Capsule if you have severe liver problems including liver failure. Your physician will do blood tests to monitor your liver function.
Lungs
Inform your physician before taking Lenmid 10mg Capsule if you have if you have any lung conditions.
Driving
Do not drive or operate machines if you feel dizzy, tired, sleepy, have vertigo or blurred vision after taking Lenmid 10mg Capsule.
Pregnancy
Lenmid 10mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as it might be harmful to an unborn child. Inform your physician before starting this treatment if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.

Male patients are advised to use effective contraception (condom) during treatment with Lenmid 10mg Capsule and for 7 days at the end of the treatment even though if you have undergone vasectomy.
They should not donate sperm because this medication is present in the semen.
It is advised not to donate blood during therapy and for at least 7 days after treatment.
