Lenris 4mg Capsule is composed of the active ingredient Lenvatinib. It is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor indicated for progressive or advanced thyroid cancer when radioactive iodine therapy is not beneficial. It is also used to treat previously untreated liver cancer patients who are not eligible for surgical treatment. 

Anaplastic Thyroid Carcinoma (Advanced thyroid cancer) usually occurs in patients above 60 years of age. It is characterized by an enlarged and hard thyroid gland and hoarseness in the voice due to paralysis of the nerve in the voice box. Hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) develops due to preexisting liver conditions such as cirrhosis or chronic hepatitis B infection. Patients who have had an allergic reaction to Lenris 4mg Capsule or any of its components should not take this medication. Patients should inform their dentist or oral surgeon that they are taking Lenris 4mg Capsule, as it can impair wound healing and increase the risk of bleeding.

Lenris 4mg Capsule is indicated to treat the following conditions:

• Certain types of advanced thyroid cancer

• Advanced Liver cancer

• Certain types of kidney cancer

• Endometrial cancer

Lenris 4mg Capsule blocks the enzyme receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs). RTKs develop new blood vessels that supply oxygen and nutrients to the cells and help them grow. This medicine inhibits the receptors that facilitate the growth of blood vessels in tumor cells. RTKs are present in high concentrations in cancer cells, and administration of this medicine slows down the rate of cancer cells’ growth and multiplication.

Taking Lenris 4mg Capsule (lenalidomide) with any of the following medicines can change the effect of either of them and may increase the risk of serious side effects.

1. Warfarin or other oral anticoagulants (Oral Route) Life-threatening
   Use only under strict medical supervision.
   Lenalidomide may increase the risk of blood clots or bleeding. Close monitoring of clotting parameters is required.

2. Oestrogen-containing hormonal therapy or contraceptives (Oral Route) Life-threatening
   Avoid using together unless clearly advised.
   Concomitant use may further increase the risk of blood clots.

3. Erythropoiesis-stimulating agents such as Epoetin alfa (Injection Route) Life-threatening
   Use with extreme caution.
   Taking these medicines together may increase the risk of serious thromboembolic events.

4. Dexamethasone (Oral/Injection Route) Moderate
   Use under medical supervision.
   This combination is common in treatment but may increase the risk of infections and blood clots.

5. Digoxin (Oral Route) Moderate
   Use with caution.
   Lenalidomide may slightly increase digoxin levels and raise the risk of side effects. Monitoring may be required.

6. Other myelosuppressive anticancer medicines (Oral/Injection Route) Moderate
   Use only under specialist supervision.
   Concomitant use may increase the risk of low blood cell counts, infections, and bleeding.

7. Live vaccines (Injection Route) Moderate
   Avoid during treatment.
   Lenalidomide may weaken the immune system and increase the risk of infection after vaccination.

• Lenris 4mg Capsule should be stored at room temperature, between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).

• Protected from light.

• Keep it in its original packaging until it is ready to be used.

• Keep reach out of the reach of children and pets.

• Should be disposed of properly.

Lenris 4mg Capsule is an oral medication that is usually taken once a day, at approximately the same time each day, with or without food. It should be taken as prescribed by a doctor or other healthcare provider. These capsules should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. They should not be crushed, chewed, or opened, as this can affect the way the medication is absorbed and decrease its effectiveness. You should not take a double dose to make up for the second dose.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious:

• Feeling numb or weak on 1 side of the body

• Severe headache

• Fever

• Confusion

• Difficulty speaking

• Vision changes

• Dizziness

• Chest pain or pressure

• Pain in arms, jaw, neck, and back

• Breathing problems

• Severe stomach pain

• Blood clot formation

• Blood in stools or coughing blood

• Liver problems

• Pain or soreness in the mouth, teeth, or jaw

Common:

• High or low BP

• Loss of appetite

• Nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, or indigestion

• Tiredness

• Hoarse voice

• Leg swelling

• Rashes

• Pain in joints or muscles

• Hair loss

• Sleeplessness

• Protein in urine, frequent urination

• Low potassium, magnesium, and calcium levels in the blood

• Dehydration

• Skin problems

• Gall bladder inflammation

• Increase in the values of cholesterol, thyroid-stimulating hormone, digestive enzymes

• Delayed wound healing

• Stay in close contact with your healthcare provider and report any side effects or concerns immediately.

• Avoid pregnancy and breastfeeding during treatment. Use effective contraception while taking Lenris 4mg Capsule and for at least two weeks after stopping it.

• Do not give these capsules to children.

• Avoid eating grapefruit, as it can affect how your body absorbs the medicine.

• Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing outdoors to reduce the risk of sunburn or skin damage.

• Avoid strenuous activities until you know how the medicine affects you, and maintain a healthy, balanced diet to support your overall well-being.
