Introduction

Lenteclin IV Injection is an antibiotic medicine containing Doxycycline, a member of the tetracycline class of antibiotics.Foxime s injection use a wide range of bacterial infections, including severe respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, sexually transmitted infections, and certain types of malaria. Doctors may prescribe it when oral treatment is not suitable, especially in hospitalised patients.

This medicine is usually given in hospitals under the supervision of a healthcare professional. It is particularly helpful for patients unable to take oral medication or with serious infections requiring immediate action.

Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have allergies to tetracyclines or any antibiotics. Patients with liver disease, kidney problems, or gastrointestinal disorders should be cautious, as dose adjustments or close monitoring may be required. Lenteclin IV price varies by retailer and location.

Uses

Lenteclin IV Injection uses are:

  • Severe respiratory tract infections (pneumonia, bronchitis)

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections

  • Sexually transmitted infections (e.g., chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea)

  • Rickettsial infections (typhus, Rocky Mountain spotted fever)

  • Severe acne and rosacea (in some cases)

  • Certain types of malaria (in combination therapy)

How Lenteclin IV Injection works

Doxycycline works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing bacteria from making the proteins they need to grow and multiply. This stops the infection from spreading and helps the body’s immune system eliminate the bacteria.

Interaction of Lenteclin IV Injection with other drugs

  1. Erythromycin (Severe)
Lincomycin and erythromycin can block each other’s action, reducing effectiveness. This combination is generally avoided in clinical practice.

  2. Neuromuscular Blocking Agents (Severe)
Medicines such as vecuronium, pancuronium, or succinylcholine may have exaggerated muscle-relaxing effects when given with lincomycin, increasing the risk of breathing difficulties. Close monitoring is essential.

  3. Antidiarrheal Agents like Loperamide (Moderate)
Using strong antidiarrheals with lincomycin may worsen antibiotic-associated colitis. Doctors typically avoid this combination unless necessary.

  4. Warfarin and Other Anticoagulants (Moderate)
Lincomycin may alter blood clotting parameters and increase bleeding tendency when combined with blood thinners. INR monitoring is recommended.

  5. Cyclosporine (Moderate)
Concurrent use can affect cyclosporine levels, either reducing its efficacy or increasing toxicity. Regular blood level checks may be required.

  6. Probiotics (Mild)
Taking probiotics at the same time may reduce their effectiveness due to antibiotic action. Dose spacing is usually advised.

Storage Conditions

  • Store below 25°C

  • Keep away from direct sunlight.

  • Do not freeze

  • Keep out of reach of children.

How to Use Lenteclin IV Injection

  • Lenteclin IV Injection is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion by a doctor or nurse.

  • Do not attempt to self-administer this medicine.

  • The Lenteclin IV Injection dosage and duration depend on the type and severity of infection, your age, weight, liver/kidney function, and overall health.
