Introduction to Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet belongs to a class of medications known as Anti-hypertensives. It contains the active ingredient bisoprolol. It is prescribed to treat hypertension, angina pectoris, and chronic heart failure. Hypertension is defined as a medical condition in which the blood generates excessive force on the artery walls (blood vessels). Angina Pectoris refers to chest pain caused by reduced blood flow to the heart. It might indicate coronary artery disease. Chronic heart failure occurs when your heart is unable to pump adequate oxygen-rich blood to meet your body's requirements.
Dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, headache, bradycardia, asthenia, fatigue, hypotension, coldness or numbness in the extremities, and worsening of pre-existing heart failure are the common side effects of Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet. Inform your healthcare provider if these side effects disturb or persist in you. This medication is not recommended for children.
Before treatment with this medication, let your physician know if you are experiencing any allergy to Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet or its ingredients. It is not recommended for people with severe asthma or chronic lung disease, slow or irregular heart rate, heart failure, cardiogenic shock, metabolic acidosis, or untreated pheochromocytoma. Avoid taking Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Uses of Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet
Treats hypertension (high blood pressure), angina pectoris (chest pain), and chronic heart failure.
Therapeutic Effects of Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet
Bisoprolol is a beta1-selective adrenoceptor-blocking agent that affects the body's response to certain nerve impulses, especially in the heart. It works by decreasing the heart rate and making it easier for the heart to flow blood throughout the body. As a result, it reduces blood pressure and the risk of having a stroke, a heart attack, other heart problems, or kidney problems.
Interaction of Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

How to consume Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet should be taken in the morning with food. Swallow the tablets as a whole with water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

Breast Feeding
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding as it is not known whether this drug tends to pass into the breast milk.
Alcohol
Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet, as it may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or lightheadedness.
Liver
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in severe liver disease patients. Consult your doctor for advice.
Lungs
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in severe lung disease patients. Consult your doctor for advice.
Driving
This medicine can cause dizziness, drowsiness, or tiredness. Avoid driving or using machines while taking Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet.
Pregnancy
Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet is not safe to be used during pregnancy unless considered necessary. If this medication is required in pregnancy, the uteroplacental blood flow and fetal growth should be closely monitored.
Side Effects of Lodoz 2.5mg Tablet
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medications cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
