Merinta 500mg Injection is an antibiotic medication in the carbapenems category, containing the active ingredient Meropenem. It is used to treat various bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms. This injection also treats skin, lung, urine, and gynaecological infections. Mostly, it can be used to prevent surgical site infections.
This drug is mainly contraindicated in individuals with known hypersensitivity or allergic reactions to other beta-lactam antibiotics, such as penicillins or cephalosporins. If you have experienced severe diarrhoea after taking other antibiotics, it is important to inform your physician. Merinta 500mg Injection can reduce the serum concentrations of valproic acid, a medication used to treat seizures and certain mental health conditions.
