• Oral hormonal contraceptives: Tirzepatide can affect the absorption of oral hormonal contraceptives, particularly when treatment is started or the dose is increased. Discuss contraception with your doctor.

• Store Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.

• Do not freeze Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen. Do not use it if it has been frozen.

• Keep the pen in its original carton to protect it from light.

• If the pen is stored at room temperature, do not expose it to temperatures above 30°C. Discard the pen if it has not been used within 30 days after being removed from refrigeration.

• Follow the product-specific storage and disposal instructions provided with the pen.

Use Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Tirzepatide treatment is usually started at 2.5 mg once weekly for four weeks before increasing to 5 mg once weekly. Increase the dose only as directed by your prescriber.

Common side effects:

Tell your doctor if you have severe gastrointestinal disease, including gastroparesis, before using Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen. Persistent vomiting or diarrhoea can cause dehydration and may affect kidney function. Drink enough fluids and seek medical advice if these symptoms are severe or do not improve.

People with diabetic retinopathy should tell their doctor about any changes in vision. Your doctor may monitor your eye condition during treatment.

Tell your doctor before surgery or a procedure involving general anaesthesia or deep sedation. Tirzepatide slows stomach emptying, which may increase the risk of stomach contents entering the lungs during some procedures.

• Use Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen exactly as prescribed. Do not increase or reduce the dose on your own.

• Mounjaro 5 mg is generally not the initial dose. Treatment commonly begins with 2.5 mg once weekly for four weeks before increasing to 5 mg, as directed by the prescriber.

• Follow the diet and physical activity plan your doctor recommends.

• Tell your doctor if you use insulin or a sulfonylurea because Mounjaro 5 mg KwikPen can increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with these medicines.
