Introduction
Nirmacom Tablet contains the antiviral combination of Nirmatrelvir and Ritonavir, used to treat mild to moderate COVID-19 in adults at high risk of developing severe disease. This treatment is aligned with the expected Nirmacom mechanism of action, where Nirmatrelvir acts as a SARS-CoV-2 protease inhibitor that blocks viral replication, and Ritonavir boosts its effectiveness by slowing its breakdown in the body.
This medicine works best when taken early in the course of infection, ideally within five days of symptom onset. Nirmacom dosage is determined by the prescribing physician based on clinical condition, risk factors, and potential drug interactions. It is commonly prescribed for individuals with risk factors such as diabetes, hypertension, chronic lung disease, heart disease, weakened immunity, cancer, or advanced age.
Nirmacom Tablet is not a substitute for vaccination and does not prevent COVID-19 infection. It is not recommended in patients with severe liver or kidney disease, and it should not be used by individuals allergic to any component of the formulation. For patients evaluating treatment costs, the Nirmacom price may vary depending on pharmacy and region.
When sourcing the medication, ensure that Nirmacom Tablet is purchased from trusted pharmacies or verified online medical platforms to guarantee authenticity and safe usage.
Uses
Nirmacom Tablet uses are:
Treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 in adults at high risk of progression to severe disease, hospitalisation, or death.
How Nirmacom Tablet Works
Nirmacom contains two active components:
1. Nirmatrelvir
Inhibits the SARS-CoV-2 main protease enzyme (Mpro).
The virus requires Mpro to process polyproteins, which are essential for replication.
Blocking Mpro prevents viral multiplication inside human cells.
2. Ritonavir
Ritonavir is not active against COVID-19 on its own.
It boosts Nirmatrelvir by inhibiting CYP3A4, the enzyme that metabolises it.
This increases Nirmatrelvir levels and maintains its therapeutic activity.
Together, the combination reduces viral load in the body and helps prevent worsening of symptoms.
Interaction of Nirmacom Tablet with Other Drugs
Nirmacom has significant drug interactions, mainly due to Ritonavir’s strong effect on liver enzymes.
