Introduction to Pomamac 4mg Capsule
Pomamac 4mg Capsule is a chemotherapy medicine containing the active constituent Pomalidomide. It belongs to the group of medications known as Immuno modulatory agents. It is used to treat multiple myeloma in adults. Multiple myeloma is a type of cancer mainly affecting certain white blood cells called the plasma cell. These cells grow uncontrolled and accumulate in the bone marrow, damaging the bones and kidneys.
The common side effects that are likely to associate with Pomamac 4mg Capsule are shortness of breath, tiredness, weakness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, back and bone pain, dizziness, tremor, upper respiratory tract infection, sleeping trouble, loss of appetite, lack of energy, muscle spasms, muscle weakness, numbness, tingling or burning sensation, the low potassium level in the blood and anemia. Inform your doctor if these side effects disturb or persist in you.
Inform your medical professional if you are allergic to Pomamac 4mg Capsule and its ingredients. Inform your doctor if you have high cholesterol levels, heart disorders, breathing problems, blood clot disorders, hepatitis B infection, neuropathy (Pain in hands or feet caused by nerve damage), or if you smoke before taking this chemotherapy medicine. It is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18 years of age.

- Treatment of Multiple myeloma.
Therapeutic Effects of Pomamac 4mg Capsule
Pomamac 4mg Capsule works by stimulating the immune system to attack the cancer cells, stopping the formation of blood vessels supplying the cancer cells, and preventing the growth of cancer cells (myeloma cells).
Interaction of Pomamac 4mg Capsule with other drugs
Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements and herbal products that you are taking or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Pomamac 4mg Capsule and can cause potential side effects.

- Store at room temperature between 20°C to 25°C.
How to consume Pomamac 4mg Capsule
Always take Pomamac 4mg Capsule exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Take this medicine with or without food. Swallow the tablet as a whole with water. Do not crush or chew the tablets.
Safety Advice for Pomamac 4mg Capsule
Breast Feeding
It is not recommended to use during breastfeeding as it is not known if Pomamac 4mg Capsule passes into breast milk and harms the baby.
Alcohol
It is not recommended to take alcohol when under Pomamac 4mg capsule medication as it can enhance the effect of the medication, causing undesirable side effects.
Liver
Pomamac 4mg Capsule is used with caution in severe liver disease patients. A dose adjustment is required. Your physician will perform blood tests to monitor your liver function during treatment with this medication.
Lungs
It is unknown whether Pomamac 4mg Capsule can be given to patients with lung disorders. Consult your doctor if you have any lung problems before starting the treatment.
Driving
Do not drive or operate heavy machines while taking Pomamac 4mg Capsule, which can cause tiredness, dizziness, and confusion.
Pregnancy
Pomamac 4mg Capsule is unsafe to use during pregnancy as it may cause harmful effects on the unborn baby. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Side Effects of Pomamac 4mg Capsule
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Low white blood cells
- Bleeding or bruising
- Severe or bloody diarrhea
- Blood clots (chest or leg pain, swelling)
- Severe liver problems (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark-brow color urine, abdominal Pain)
- Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, lips, tongue, or throat, difficulty breathing)

- Nausea, vomiting
- Dizziness, tremor
- Low potassium level in the blood (hypokalaemia)
- Back pain, bone pain
- Diarrhea, constipation
- Upper respiratory tract infection

- Trouble sleeping
- Muscle spasms, muscle weakness
- Numbness, tingling, or burning sensation in the skin, Pain in hands or feet
- Anemia
Word of Advice
It is recommended to take effective birth control for at least 4 weeks before beginning treatment, during treatment, and at least 4 weeks after stopping Pomamac 1 mg Capsule treatment. Women who are pregnant or suspect they may be pregnant should not use this medication. Handle this medication with disposable gloves since it may come into contact with the skin. Do not share Pomamac 1 mg Capsule with others even if they have the same symptoms as you have. since it may cause birth defects and other serious problems. It is advised to refrain from donating blood or sperm both during treatment and for seven days after treatment with this drug.

Pomamac 4 mg Capsule should not be used in patients with hepatitis B virus infection. Pomamac 4 mg Capsule treatment may reactivate the hepatitis B virus in people who have the virus, resulting in a recurrence of the infection.
