Introduction to Regolieva 40mg Tablet

Regolieva 40mg Tablet is a targeted therapy containing the active constituent regorafenib. It is used to treat colon cancer, rectal cancer, liver cancer, and gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) (a type of cancer of the stomach and bowel). Cancer is a disorder in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner.

Talk to your doctor if you have any liver disorders, infection, bleeding problems, stomach and bowel problems, chest pain, heart diseases, high blood pressure, persistent headaches, or seizures, or if you recently had or are going to have a surgical procedure before taking this medicine. Regolieva 40mg Tablet is not recommended for adolescents and children.

Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking this medicine, as it can affect the way this medicine works. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least eight weeks after the last dose. Talk to your doctor if you are on a salt-controlled diet, as Regolieva 40mg Tablet contains sodium.

Uses of Regolieva 40mg Tablet

Regolieva 40mg Tablet is used in the treatment of the following:

  • Colorectal cancer has started to spread to other parts of the body
  • Gastrointestinal stromal tumours (GIST) (a type of stomach and bowel cancer)
  • Liver cancer in adult patients who have already undergone treatment with Sorafenib (anticancer medicine)

Therapeutic Effects of Regolieva 40mg Tablet

Regolieva 40mg Tablet binds to tyrosine kinase receptors and inhibits the VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) and EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) receptors on the cell surface. By binding to these receptors, this medication blocks an important pathway that promotes cell division. This helps to prevent the growth and multiplication of cancer cells.
