Simulect 20mg Injection is an immunosuppressant medication containing the active constituent called basiliximab. It helps prevent organ rejection in people who are having a kidney transplant. Following an organ transplant, our body’s immune system will try to reject the new organ. This medication controls the body’s immune response to accept the transplanted organ.
Talk to your physician if you have previously received a transplant, have any diseases or allergic conditions, or are about to receive any vaccinations before taking Simulect 20mg Injection. Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least four months after the last dose. Make sure you inform your physician of all the medicines, including supplements and herbal medicines, you are taking before you start treatment with this medication.

Simulect 20mg Injection decreases the activity of your body’s immune system and prevents it from attacking the transplanted organ.

Pregnancy:
Simulect 20mg Injection is contraindicated in pregnant patients. You need to inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine.
Breastfeeding:
Simulect 20mg Injection is contraindicated in breastfeeding patients. You need to tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you have previously received a transplant, have any diseases or allergic conditions, or are about to receive any vaccinations before taking Simulect 20mg Injection.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Severe allergic reactions (swelling of face, tongue, or lips, difficulty in breathing, fast heartbeat, dizziness, decreased urine output)
Common:
- Constipation, diarrhea
- Weigh gain
- Nausea
- Headache, pain
- High blood pressure
- Anemia
- Infections
- Runny or blocked nose, fever
- Excessive growth of normal hair
