• Management of high blood sugar levels (Type 2 diabetes)

Sulisent 100 mg Tablet is a sodium-glucose co-transport-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor that stops kidney reabsorption of glucose, helping your body get rid of extra sugar through urine and lowering blood sugar levels. It can prevent heart disease in people with type 2 diabetes and also slows down kidney problems by a mechanism beyond blood glucose lowering.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Sulisent tablets and cause undesirable side effects. 

Inform your doctor if you're taking other antidiabetic drugs, like insulin or sulfonylureas, to prevent low blood sugar. Also, mention if you use medications for blood pressure, diuretics, St. John's wort( herbal medication for depression), antiepileptic drugs (carbamazepine, phenytoin, or phenobarbital), HIV medications (efavirenz or ritonavir), rifampicin ( antibiotic for tuberculosis), cholestyramine (for lowering cholesterol levels), or heart medications like digoxin or digitoxin, as levels in your blood may need monitoring alongside sulisent 100 mg strip of 10 tablets. Clear communication with your healthcare provider about these medications is crucial for your well-being.

• Protect from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Do not use it after the expiry date.

Take Sulisent 100mg Tablet as your physician advises. Swallow the tablet whole with water. Do not crush the tablets. Take the tablet before the first meal. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Do not double the dosage to compensate for the missed dose. If you take too much of the tablet, seek medical attention immediately. Don't stop the tablet unless advised by your doctor.

Serious side effects of Sulisent 100mg Tablet are:

• Allergic reactions - swelling of the face, mouth or throat that may result in difficulty in breathing or swallowing

• Diabetic ketoacidosis (enhanced levels of ketone in your urine or blood) - signs include rapid weight loss, feeling sick, stomach pain, excessive thirst, fast and deep breathing, confusion, sleepiness or tiredness, a sweet smell, a sweet or metallic taste or a different odour to your urine or sweat.

Common side effects of Sulisent 100mg Tablet are:

• Low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia)

• Urinary tract infections

• Yeast infection - redness of the penis or foreskin or in the vagina

• Changes in urination (including urinating more frequently or in larger amounts, urgent need to urinate, need to urinate at night)

• Constipation

• Feeling thirsty

• Nausea

• Your doctor will regularly monitor kidney function through blood tests during treatment with Sulisent 100mg Tablet.

• Because of how this medicine works, your urine may show the presence of sugar (glucose) — this is expected and not a cause for concern.

• Seek immediate medical attention if you notice genital or perianal pain, redness, swelling, or fever, as these could signal a rare but serious infection.

• Check your feet regularly and follow proper foot care advice. Report any cuts, blisters, or unusual changes to your doctor promptly.

• If you develop a kidney or urinary tract infection accompanied by fever, your doctor may temporarily advise you to stop taking Sulisent 100mg Tablet until recovery.

• Continue all prescribed medications as directed, including Sulisent 100mg Tablet and other blood sugar–lowering medicines.

• Follow your doctor’s recommendations for diet and exercise, particularly if you’re on a diabetic or weight-control meal plan while taking this medicine.
