Introduction to Trofur N 100mg Tablet
Trofur N 100mg Tablet contains the active ingredient nitrofurantoin. It is an antibiotic used to prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidney, and other parts of the urinary tract. It works by killing the bacterial organism that causes infection. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to nitrofurantoin, other medicines containing nitrofurantoin, or other ingredients.
Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have kidney disease, blood disorders, or G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency.
Inform your physician if you have diabetes, lung disease, liver problems, nervous disorder, or any other illness that causes severe weakness or tiredness, anaemia, lack of vitamin B, or any other abnormal blood values. Trofur N 100mg Tablet is not recommended for children below 3 months of age.
Report to your doctor if your urine is dark yellow or brown in colour, fatigue, yellowing of the skin or eyes, itching, skin rashes, joint pain, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or pale or grey coloured stools after taking this medicine because these may indicate liver problems.

- Prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidney, and other parts of the urinary tract.
Therapeutic Effects of Trofur N 100mg Tablet
Trofur N 100mg Tablet exerts its antimicrobial action by inactivating or altering bacterial ribosomal proteins and other macromolecules. As a result of this inactivation, the important biochemical processes of protein synthesis, energy metabolism, DNA, RNA synthesis, and cell wall synthesis are inhibited in the bacteria.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Trofur N 100mg Tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

Trofur N 100mg Tablet must be cautiously used in patients with lung problems because this medicine may cause drug-induced pulmonary disease. Inform your physician if you have lung diseases before starting the treatment.
Liver

Alcohol
