Tropan 5mg Tablet consists of the active ingredient Oxybutynin. It is prescribed for patients with uncontrollable urge to pass urine and relieves bladder spasms after surgical procedures.
In certain neurological conditions like spina bifida, uncontrollable urination or urge incontinence is caused by overactivity of detrusor, which produces increased pressure on urinary bladder.
Uses of Tropan 5mg Tablet:
Tropan 5mg Tablet is indicated to treat the following conditions:
- Frequent or severe urgency to pass urine or loss of control in passing urine.
- Night time bedwetting in children when other treatments have not worked.
- Spasms that occur after surgical removal of prostate gland.
- To provide beneficial effects in neurogenic bladder and spina bifida.
How Tropan 5mg Tablet Works:
Tropan 5mg Tablet works by inhibiting the receptors present in the urinary bladder and salivary glands. It relaxes the muscles of the bladder and inhibits sudden muscle contractions, thus controlling the release of urine.
Interaction with other drugs:
Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

Store the tablets in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30ËšC and keep the tablets away from sight and reach of children.

How to use Tropan 5mg Tablet:
Take the tablet as recommended by your physician.
Safety Advice:
Pregnancy:
Inform your physician before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or think you might be pregnant.
Breastfeeding:
This medicine passes through breast milk. Consult your physician for advice before breastfeeding.
Liver:
Inform your physician before taking this medicine if you have liver problems.
Kidney:
Inform your physician before taking this medicine if you have kidney problems.
Driving:
Avoid driving or doing things that require concentration if you experience any side effects of drowsiness or blurred vision.
Others:
- Inform your physician if you have problems in stomach and intestine.
- Inform your physician if you have myasthenia gravis, glaucoma, ulcerative colitis, infections or heart disease.
- Inform your physician if you have problem in your thyroid gland, nerves, prostate gland.
- Take special care in your oral hygiene and visit your dentist regularly.
- Practice caution while taking this medicine during summers as this medicine could decrease sweating.
- Inform your physician right away if you have allergic reactions to Oxybutynin or its ingredients
- Consumption of alcohol while on treatment with this medicine could increase drowsiness.
Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.
Serious:
- Allergic reactions, characterized by rashes, difficulty swallowing, breathing trouble, swelling of face, lips, throat or tongue.
Common:
- Dizziness, headache, drowsiness
- Dry eyes
- Flushing
- Constipation
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- Confusion
- Dry mouth
- Dry skin
- Urinary retention
- Indigestion
