Upadacip tablet uses are
Treatment of moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in adults who did not respond well to other medicines.
Management of Psoriatic Arthritis in adults with an inadequate response to conventional therapies.
Treatment of moderate to severe Atopic Dermatitis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy.
Treatment of active Ankylosing Spondylitis in adults who did not respond adequately to conventional therapies.
Treatment of moderately to severely active Ulcerative Colitis in adults who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to other medicines.
How Upadacip 15mg Tablet Works
In autoimmune diseases, the immune system becomes overactive and attacks the body's own tissues, causing inflammation and damage. Upadacip 15mg Tablet inhibits Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes, which transmit signals that activate inflammation. Blocking these signals reduces immune system overactivity, lowers inflammation, and helps control symptoms of chronic inflammatory conditions.
Interaction of Upadacip 15mg Tablet with Other Drugs
Taking Upadacip 15mg Tablet (upadacitinib) with any of the following medicines can change the effect of either of them and may increase the risk of serious side effects.
Ketoconazole, Itraconazole, or Clarithromycin (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Use only under strict medical supervision.
These medicines may increase upadacitinib levels in the blood and raise the risk of serious infections and side effects.
Rifampicin (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Do not use together.
Rifampicin may reduce the levels of upadacitinib and decrease its effectiveness.
Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, or Phenobarbital (Oral Route) Life-threatening
Avoid using together.
These medicines may lower drug levels and lead to reduced treatment response.
Other biologic immunosuppressants such as Adalimumab or Etanercept (Injection Route) Life-threatening
Do not use together.
Concomitant use may greatly increase the risk of serious infections.
Azathioprine or Cyclosporine (Oral/Injection Route) Life-threatening
Avoid concomitant use.
Taking these medicines together may lead to excessive immune suppression.
Corticosteroids such as Prednisolone (Oral Route) Moderate
Use with caution.
Concomitant use may further increase the risk of infections.
Live vaccines such as BCG, MMR, or Varicella (Injection Route) Life-threatening
Do not receive during treatment.
This medicine affects the immune system and may increase the risk of infection after vaccination.
Storage Conditions
Store at room temperature (15–30°C).
Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.
Do not use expired or damaged medication.
Keep out of reach of children.
