Introduction
Vorivance Injection is an antifungal drug that contains the active ingredient Voriconazole. It belongs to the medication class known as fungal ergosterol synthesis inhibitors and is prescribed for severe, life-threatening fungal infections, as well as for prevention in high-risk individuals such as bone marrow transplant patients. These indications align with Vorivance Injection uses in clinical practice. This medicine should not be given to children younger than 2 years of age.
Do not receive this medicine if you are allergic to Voriconazole or any other ingredient. Before starting treatment, inform your doctor if you have had allergic reactions to other azole antifungals, liver disease, cardiomyopathy, irregular heartbeat, slow heart rate, or long QTc syndrome on ECG. It is crucial to avoid sunlight and sun exposure during therapy, using protective clothing and high-SPF sunscreen, and children should follow the same precautions. The prescribed Vorivance Injection dosage will depend on the infection severity, your liver function, and overall medical condition, so it must be taken strictly as advised by your physician.
Common Vorivance Injection side effects include fever, rash, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, swelling of the extremities, stomach pain, and breathing difficulties. While on treatment, promptly tell your doctor if you experience sunburn, severe skin rash or blisters, bone pain, adrenal insufficiency symptoms (chronic fatigue, muscle weakness, appetite loss, weight loss, abdominal pain), or signs of Cushing’s syndrome (weight gain, fatty hump, rounded face, darkened skin, thinning skin, easy bruising, high blood sugar, excessive hair growth, excessive sweating). Inform your doctor if you have an intolerance to certain sugars because the medicine contains lactose.

Invasive Aspergillosis
Candidemia in non-neutropenic patients
Esophageal candidiasis

How Vorivance Injection Works
Voritek Injection works by blocking the production of ergosterol, disrupting fungal cell membranes and leading to cell death, ultimately eliminating the infection.
Interaction of Vorivance Injection with other drugs
Rifampicin, Carbamazepine, or Phenytoin (Life-threatening)
These strong enzyme inducers can drastically reduce voriconazole levels, making the treatment ineffective and causing rapid infection progression. Their combined use should be strictly avoided.Sirolimus or Rifabutin (Severe)
Voriconazole can sharply increase the blood levels of these medicines, raising the risk of serious toxicity. Doctors usually avoid using them together due to dangerous side effects.Warfarin and Other Anticoagulants (Severe)
Voriconazole enhances the effect of blood thinners and may trigger abnormal bleeding. Frequent clotting parameter checks are essential during combined use.Certain Antiarrhythmics like Quinidine or Amiodarone (Moderate)
These medicines may add to voriconazole’s ability to prolong the QT interval, increasing the risk of irregular heartbeat. ECG monitoring is recommended when both are necessary.Sulfonylureas such as Glipizide (Moderate)

Pregnancy
