Introduction
Xapavir LT tablet consists of the active substance called Dolutegravir, Lamivudine, Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate. Dolutegravir is an antiviral medicine belonging to the integrase inhibitor family. Lamivudine, Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, which belongs to the antiretroviral medicine class. This medicine treats HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection in adults and children with 40kg or greater. It is a nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NRTI) and works by inhibiting the enzymes (HIV reverse transcriptase), which is important for virus replication. While consuming this medicine, you may still develop infections related to HIV. Although effective antiretroviral therapy reduces the risk, HIV transmission is still possible when using this medication. Contact your doctor for more information.
Do not take Xapavir LT tablet if you are allergic to Dolutegravir, Lamivudine, Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate, or its other medical ingredients. Patients diagnosed with pancreatitis or at risk of pancreatitis should take this combination of medicine cautiously. During this treatment, your doctor may periodically monitor your blood counts, bone mineral density, liver and kidney parameters to prevent serious complications. Notify your doctor if you have or had a history of lactic acidosis (excess lactic acid), pancreatitis (inflammation in the pancreas), bone disease (osteonecrosis - the death of bone tissue), fractures, liver (chronic hepatitis B), or kidney problems. Xapavir LT Tablet substitutes include Triumeq, Tivicay + Truvada combination, or other generic combinations containing Lamivudine + Tenofovir + Dolutegravir.
Inform your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant. Breastfeeding is not recommended while taking Xapavir LT tablet due to the potential transmission of HIV infection to the baby from mother. Xapavir LT Tablet is used to treat Human Immunodeficiency Virus 1 (HIV) infection in adults and children (40kg or greater).
How Xapavir LT Tablet Works
Xapavir LT tablet lowers HIV by inhibiting its replication. It increases the number of CD4 (T) cells, enabling the immune system to fight other infections. This lowers the risk of severity and death associated with a weak immune system.
Interaction of Xapavir LT Tablet with other drugs
Metformin (Moderate)
Dolutegravir may increase metformin levels in the blood, raising the risk of low blood sugar or gastrointestinal side effects. Dose adjustment or monitoring is recommended.
Rifampicin and Other CYP3A4 Inducers (Severe)
Rifampicin, carbamazepine, or phenytoin can reduce dolutegravir levels, decreasing antiviral effectiveness. Alternative drugs or dose adjustment may be required.
Antacids or Mineral Supplements Containing Aluminum, Magnesium, or Calcium (Moderate)
These can bind dolutegravir and reduce absorption. Doses should be spaced by at least 2 hours to maintain antiviral efficacy.
Warfarin and Other Anticoagulants (Moderate)
Xapavir LT may slightly alter the effect of blood thinners, so close monitoring of INR or clotting parameters is recommended.
Didanosine or Emtricitabine (Moderate)
Concomitant use may increase the risk of lactic acidosis or liver toxicity. Medical supervision is advised.
Rifabutin and Other Antivirals (Mild)
Some HIV medications may interact by altering tenofovir or dolutegravir levels, requiring monitoring of viral load and kidney function.

How to consume Xapavir LT Tablet
It is taken orally. Your doctor will decide the Xapavir LT Tablet dosage and duration of Xapavir LT based on the disease condition and other factors. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time. Do not take an additional dose to compensate for the missed dose. Do not chew, dissolve, crush, or break the tablet.

Breast Feeding

Alcohol
