Zepoxin 40mg Injection contains Pantoprazole as an active ingredient. It is used to treat reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of the tube connecting the throat to your stomach caused by reflux of acid from the stomach), stomach, and duodenal ulcers. It is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison-Syndrome (tumors form in the Pantinumcreas or duodenum, leading to too much production of stomach acid). Talk to your physician if you have severe liver problems, if you are taking atazanavir (treats HIV infection), or due to have a specific blood test (chromogranin A). 

Long-term acid exposure can cause damage to the esophagus, leading to conditions such as Barrett's esophagus, which can increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer. By reducing the amount of acid in the stomach, Zepoxin 40mg Injection can help to prevent this damage. Zepoxin 40mg Injection is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18. Administration of this medicine for a long duration may lead to low magnesium levels in the blood. This may cause tiredness, convulsions, increased heart rate, or muscle contractions. Report to your physician if you experience any of these symptoms.

The therapeutic effect of Zepoxin 40mg Injection is related to its ability to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This can help to relieve symptoms of acid reflux, such as heartburn, regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing, by reducing the irritation of the esophagus caused by stomach acid. This medication also helps to heal and prevent the recurrence of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum by reducing the acidity in the digestive system.

Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Zepoxin 40mg Injection, reducing effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

• Store in a refrigerator between 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).
• Keep away from moisture, heat, and light.
• It should not be frozen.
• Keep it in its original packaging until it is ready to be used.
• Keep out of the reach of children and pets.

Zepoxin 40mg Injection is usually taken once a day, either in the morning or evening, before a meal by a healthcare professional. The recommended dosage can vary depending on the type of cancer being treated and other factors such as your overall health and response to treatment. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

Like all medications, Zepoxin 40mg Injections cause some side effects, although not everyone will experience them. 

Serious:

• Severe allergic reactions (such as difficulty breathing, hives, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat)
• Severe diarrhea (with blood or mucus)
• Stomach pain or cramping
• Fever
• Joint pain or muscle weakness
• Unusual tiredness or fatigue
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• Dark urine or pale stools

Common:

• Headache
• Nausea
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Flatulence
• Constipation
• Rash
• Dizziness

If you have been prescribed Zepoxin 40mg Injection, it is important to carefully read and understand the warnings and precautions associated with the medication. It increases the risk of infection, so patients should avoid close contact with infected persons. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult with a healthcare provider before taking it. Patients should take multivitamins during and after treatment because a deficiency of vitamin B12 is a side effect of taking this medication.
