Introduction to Supracal K2 Tablet

Supracal K2 Tablet belongs to the group of medications called nutritional supplements. It contains the active ingredient calcium citrate, calcitriol, and vitamin K2-7, which is primarly used to treat nutritional deficiencies. Calcium is essential for bone health that is used to treat or prevent a calcium deficiency and can be given for certain bone conditions such as osteoporosis. Calcitriol is a synthetic derivative of Vitamin D3 that aids in treating metabolic bone disease and calcium insufficiency.  

Vitamin K2-7 promotes calcium transfer from the bloodstream into the bone, which helps maintain bone density. The symptoms likely associated with Supracal K2 Tablet are constipation, stomach upset, headache, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, tiredness, weakness, fast heartbeat, muscle pain, and mood changes. Inform your doctor if any of these symptoms disturb you or persist. Inform your doctor if you experience hypersensitivity to calcium citrate, calcitriol, vitamin K2-7, or any of its ingredients.  

Before treatment commencement with this medication, let your physician know if you have kidney stones, hypervitaminosis D (high vitamin D levels), hypercalcemia (high calcium levels), malabsorption syndrome, heart, liver, or kidney disease. Consult your healthcare provider if you are a pregnant or breastfeeding woman. Supracal K2 Tablet Should be given to children when prescribed by a doctor.

  • Hypoparathyroidism (low level of parathyroid hormone).

Therapeutic Effects of Supracal K2 Tablet

Calcium works by neutralizing the acid released in the stomach. Vitamin D3 acts by regulating phosphorous and calcium levels in the body. Vitamin K2-7 works by increasing the bone-building process. Together, Supracal K2 Tablet works by replenishing low calcium levels, maintaining bone density, and promoting calcium transport from the bloodstream into the bone.


Interaction of Supracal K2 Tablet with other drugs

Inform your doctor about any medications you take or have taken before the treatment including prescription medicines, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact with Supracal K2 and can cause undesirable side effects.

One of the side effects of this medicine is formation of kidney stones. When used for an extended period, Supracal K2 Tablet may produce kidney stones due to excessive calcium deposition. If you have any kidney problems, consult your doctor before taking this medication.
