Introduction to Busefan 60mg Injection
Busefan 60mg Injection is an anti-cancer (antineoplastic/cytotoxic) chemotherapy drug which contains an active ingredient as Busulfan. It is an alkyl sulfonate belonging to the class alkylating agent. It is indicated for treating chronic myelogenous leukaemia(( type of cancer that causes an increase in white blood cells)) and given as a conditioning regimen before hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation(A procedure in which a patient receives healthy blood-forming cells (stem cells) from a donor to replace their own stem cells that have been destroyed by treatment with radiation or high doses of chemotherapy).
Chronic myelogenous leukaemia is an uncommon type of cancer that affects bone marrow (soft,spongy tissue that produces blood cells for your body). It causes an increase in white blood cell count. The term “chronic” indicates that the disease is slowly developed and extended over a long period of time. The word “Myelogenous” describes the type of blood cells that are affected. It typically affects the older rarely occurs in children though any age group can be affected. Busefan 60mg Injections can cause a severe decrease in bone marrow activity. If you are taking any other medications that decrease the blood cell count, talk to your healthcare professional before taking the medications.
Uses of Busefan 60mg Injection
- Hematopoietic progenitor cell transplantation
- Chronic myelogenous leukaemia
- Polycythaemia vera (type of cancer that causes increase in red blood cells)
- Thrombocythemia (increased number of platelets in the blood)
- Myelofibrosis (type of blood cancer where scar tissues are formed in bone marrow)
- Hemoglobinopathies (genetic disorder that produces abnormal haemoglobin)
- congenital metabolic diseases
Therapeutic Effects of Busefan 60mg Injection
Bucelon works by interfering with the DNA replication process, which is necessary for the cells to divide. It stops the tumour growth by inhibiting the cell division.

- It should be stored under refrigerated conditions between 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F).

How to consume Busefan 60mg Injection
Your physician will decide the formulation, dose, and duration of this therapy. The dose of Busefan 60mg Injection depends on your blood cancer. If you are prescribed the injection, your healthcare professional will administer the injection. Do not self-administer. The injection is administered as an intravenous infusion into the vein. Don't stop the medication until or unless your doctor advises. If you missed the dose, do not take double the doses. Inform your physician about your missed dose.

Breast Feeding

Tell your doctor if you have any symptoms of gout (pain and swollen joints caused by uric acid crystals). During or after administration of the injection, if you face itchy skin, fever, excessive sweating, rigors or chills, or difficulty in breathing, inform your doctor immediately.
