Introduction to Celtranz 500mg Injection

Celtranz 500mg Injection contains the active compound tranexamic acid. It belongs to a group of medicines called antifibrinolytics (medications that prevent the breakdown of blood clots). It is indicated in patients with hemophilia (a disorder where blood doesn't clot normally) for short-term use to prevent blood loss. It is an effective option that is favored for preventing or managing excessive bleeding linked to fibrinolytic medications, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, tooth, tonsil, or prostate removal, as well as heavy menstrual bleeding in females.

It is not recommended to take this medication if you are allergic to the active substance Celtranz 500mg Injection or its components. If you have a history of kidney problems, blood disorders, or seizures (fits), inform your doctor before taking this medication. You need to inform your physician if you have any liver disorders. Tell your physician about all the medications you are taking before starting treatment.

Uses of Celtranz 500mg Injection

Therapeutic Effects of Celtranz 500mg Injection

Celtranz 500mg Injection acts by stopping the breakdown of blood clots. It does this by blocking the lysine binding site on a plasminogen protein. This prevents plasminogen from breaking down fibrin, a key component of blood clots, and helps to maintain clot stability. In simpler terms, it helps to keep blood clots intact and prevents excessive bleeding.

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Celtranz 500mg Injection and cause undesirable side effects.
