Introduction to Chetfuran Tablet
Chetfuran tablet contains the active ingredient nitrofurantoin. It is an antibiotic used to prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidney, and other parts of the urinary tract. It works by killing the bacterial organism that cause infection. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to nitrofurantoin, other medicines containing nitrofurantoin, or other ingredients. Inform your physician if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have kidney disease, blood disorders, or G6PD (glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase) deficiency. Ā
Inform your physician if you have diabetes, lung disease, liver problems, nervous disorder, or any other illness that cause severe weakness or tiredness, anemia, lack of vitamin B, or any other abnormal blood values. ChetfuranĀ tablet is not recommended for children below 3 months of age. Report to your doctor if your urine is dark yellow or brown in color, fatigue, yellowing of the skin or eyes, itching, skin rashes, joint pain, abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, or pale or grey colored stools after taking this medicine because these may indicate liver problems.

- Prevent and treat infections of the bladder, kidney, and other parts of the urinary tract.
Therapeutic Effects of Chetfuran Tablet
Chetfuran tablet exerts its antimicrobial action by inactivating or altering bacterial ribosomal proteins and other macromolecules. As a result of this inactivation, the important biochemical process of protein synthesis, energy metabolism, DNA, RNA synthesis, and cell wall synthesis are inhibited in the bacteria.Ā
Interaction of Chetfuran Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications interact with Chetfuran tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.Ā

Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of Chetfuran tablet based on the disease condition and other factors. Always take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Take the tablet at the same time, with food. This will help avoid stomach upset and make the medicine work more effectively. Do not break, chew, crush, or break the tablet. Swallow the whole tablet with water.Ā

Breast Feeding
Breastfeeding is not recommended in patients taking Chetfuran tablet because the medicine passes into the breast milk in small amounts and may harm your baby. Do not breastfeed during the treatment.Ā
Alcohol
It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Chetfuran tablet because this may cause symptoms like flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea and vomiting.
Liver
Chetfuran tablet must be cautiously used in patients with liver problems. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Inform your physician if you have liver disease before starting the treatment.Ā
Lungs
Chetfuran tablet must be cautiously used in patients with lung problems because this medicine may cause drug-induced pulmonary disease. Inform your physician if you have lung diseases before starting the treatment.Ā
Driving
Chetfuran tablet may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Driving or operating heavy machinery is unsafe if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Pregnancy
Do not take Chetfuran tablet if you are pregnant because this may harm the unborn baby. Inform your physician if you are pregnant, suspecting pregnancy, or planning to get pregnant during the treatment.
