CYRAMZA 100MG INJECTION

Introduction:

Cyramza 100mg Injection is an anticancer medication containing the active ingredient Ramucirumab. It is used to treat advanced cancers of the stomach, colon, rectum, lungs and liver. Cancer is a condition in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner. This medicine may be given alone or in combination with other anticancer medications.

You need to inform to your doctor if you have high blood pressure, bleeding problems, liver disorders, kidney disorders, lung cancer, or are going to have surgery before taking Cyramza 100mg Injection. This medication is not recommended for adolescents and children under 18 years of age.

Use effective birth control during the treatment and for at least three months after the last dose. Make sure you tell your physician of all the medicines, including supplements and herbal medicines, you are taking before you start treatment with Cyramza 100mg Injection.

How Cyramza 100mg Injection works:

Ramucirumab is a specialized protein that can recognize and bind to another protein called ‘VEGR receptor 2’ found on blood vessels. By binding to VEGR receptor 2’ and blocking it, this medication cuts off the blood supply to the cancer cells. This prevents the growth and multiplication of cancer cells.

Interactions with other drugs:

Inform your doctor about any medications you are taking or have taken before the treatment.

• Keep Cyramza 100mg Injection out of sight and reach of children. 
• Store in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze.

Safety advice:

Pregnancy:

Cyramza 100mg Injection may cause harm to the unborn baby. You need to tell your physician if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant before taking this medicine. 

Breastfeeding:

Do not breastfeed during the treatment with Cyramza 100mg Injection and for at least three months after the dose. You need to tell your physician if you are breastfeeding before taking this medicine. 

Liver:

You need to tell your physician if you have any liver disorders before taking Cyramza 100mg Injection, as this medication should be used with caution in liver disorder patients.

Kidney:

You need to tell your physician if you have any kidney disorders before taking Cyramza 100mg Injection, as this medication should be used with caution in kidney disorder patients.

Driving: 

Cyramza 100mg Injection can make you feel tired. Avoid driving if you are unwell.

Others:

Talk to your physician if:

• You have high blood pressure, bleeding problems, or lung cancer.
• You are going to have surgery.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious:

• Hole in your gut wall (severe abdominal pain, fever, chills, vomiting)
• Severe bleeding in the gut (changes in stool color, extreme tiredness, or dizziness)
• Blood clots

Common:

• Low white blood cell count
• Infections
• Diarrhea
• Hair loss
• Nose bleed
• Swelling of the lining of the mouth
• High blood pressure
• Swelling of feet, hands, and legs
• Headache
