Introduction to Estroz 25mg Tablet
Estroz 25mg Tablet is an anticancer drug with the active ingredient Exemestane. It belongs to the medication class known as aromatase inhibitors. In postmenopausal women, it is used to treat hormone-dependent early breast cancer after completing 2-3 years of treatment with Tamoxifen. In addition, it also treats hormone-dependent advanced breast cancer.
Cancer is a disorder in which cells multiply in an uncontrolled and abnormal manner. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Exemestane or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, if you have not been through the menopause stage, or if you think you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Estroz 25mg Tablet is not recommended for adolescents and children under the age of 18. Inform your doctor before starting the treatment if you have problems with your liver or kidney or if you have a history of bone conditions, as this medicine can make you lose mineral content and decrease its strength.
Inform your doctor if you take any other medicine while under this treatment. Regular checking will be conducted to monitor the vitamin D level. If your level is below normal, you will be given vitamin D. You need to tell your doctor about all the medications you have been taking recently before taking this medicine. Use effective birth control while taking this medicine.
Uses of Estroz 25mg Tablet
The Estroz 25mg Tablet is used in the treatment of the following:
- Breast cancer
Therapeutic Effects of Estroz 25mg Tablet
Exemestane inhibits the enzyme aromatase, which is responsible for the conversion of androgens (male hormones) to estrogen (female hormones). By inhibiting aromatase, Exemestane reduces the levels of estrogen in the body. This can stop or reduce the growth of different hormone-sensitive breast cancer cells, which depend on estrogen.
Interaction of Estroz 25mg Tablet with other drugs
Inform your healthcare provider about all your medicines, including prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain medications may interact such as Rifampicin, Carbamazepine, or phenytoin, and St. John Wort interacts with Estroz 25mg Tablet and reduce effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

Breast Feeding
It is unsafe to breastfeed while taking Estroz 25mg Tablet because it can cause toxicity to the baby. Please consult your physician for more advice.

Liver
Inform your physician about any underlying liver disorders before taking Estroz 25mg Tablet, as this medication should be used with caution in liver disease patients.

It is unknown if patients with lung conditions can consume Estroz 25mg Tablet. So, before beginning the treatment, consult your doctor if you have any lung conditions.
Driving
Estroz 25mg Tablet may affect the ability to drive in some patients. Hence, it is advised to avoid driving if you feel tired or weak while taking this injection.
Pregnancy
Do not take this Estroz 25mg Tablet if you are pregnant because it may cause harm to the unborn baby. Consult your doctor before starting the treatment.
Side Effects of Estroz 25mg Tablet
Side effects are unwanted symptoms produced by medication. Even though all medications cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Lowered white blood cell count (leukopenia)
Reduction of platelets in the blood
Allergic reaction
Difficulty in breathing

- Diarrhea, Nausea

It is advised to inform your doctor if you have a history of liver or kidney diseases. Estroz 25mg Tablet reduces levels of the estrogen hormone. You can have weaker bones that are more likely to break. Do not get pregnant or breastfeed. Use effective contraception throughout the treatment.
