• Prostate cancer
• Hormone-responsive breast cancer in perimenopausal (around menopause) women
• Endometriosis (a painful illness in which the tissue that normally lines the inside of the uterus grows outside of your uterus)
• Central precocious puberty (a child’s body begins to change into an adult too soon caused by a release of certain hormones)

Leuprodel 22.5mg Injection decreases testosterone or estrogen production, depending on the treated condition. This helps to slow the growth of cancer cells, reduce the size of uterine fibroids, and alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis and early onset of puberty.

Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription, over-the-counter, nutritional and vitamin supplements, vaccines, and herbal products. Certain medications such as Quinidine, Procainamide, Amiodarone, Sotalol, Painkillers, and Antibiotics may interact with the effects of Leuprodel 22.5mg Injection and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects. 

• Keep Leuprodel 22.5mg Injection out of sight and reach of children.
• Store in a cool, dry place, away from direct heat and light.
• Store below 25oC
• Do not refrigerate or freeze.

Leuprodel 22.5mg Injection is usually administered in the arm, thigh or abdomen. If this injection is recommended for you, it will be given by a healthcare professional. Do not self-administer. Your physician will choose the dosage and administration frequency based on the medical condition because it differs for each person.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all medicines cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious

• Severe rash, itching
• Shortness or difficulty of breath
• Cough with blood
• Pulmonary embolism
• Severe headache

Common

• Altered blood sugar and cholesterol levels
• Injection site reactions
• Loss of appetite
• Abnormal liver function
• Swelling in ankle or hand
• Difficulty sleeping, headache
• Mood swings, depression
• Weight changes
• Nausea, vomiting
• Vaginal dryness, bleeding
• Loss of interest in sexual intercourse
• Hot flushes
• Bone pain, muscle weakness
• Breast tenderness

During the treatment of breast cancer, regular checkups of every three months during the treatment with the combination of an aromatase inhibitor. Do not receive this injection if you experience any abnormal vaginal bleeding. Consult your doctor immediately if you or your child is suffering from a headache even after treating it with painkillers, vision problems, buzzing, or ringing in the ear. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor to monitor your glucose and blood sugar levels regularly. Before starting, inform your doctor if you are still mensurating.
