Macitent 10mg Tablet contains macitentan, which belongs to a group of medicines called endothelin receptor antagonists. It is used to treat long-term pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) (high blood pressure in the arteries within the lungs) in adults. It can be used alone or along with other medicines for PAH.

The safety and effectiveness of the drug have not been established in children, hence it is not recommended in children. Consult your doctor if you are allergic to Macitent 10mg Tablet or have a liver or lung disorder. Consult your doctor if you are planning to get pregnant or think you may be pregnant or while breastfeeding, and it may cause infertility in males. Speak with your doctor about your medical history to the doctor before taking this medicine.

• Treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH)

Macitent 10mg Tablet widens the arteries of the lung and makes the arteries pump blood from the heart, which passes through it. It lowers the blood pressure, relieves the symptoms, and involves the improvising of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

Inform your doctor about any prescribed medications, over-the-counter medicines, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal products you take or have taken before the treatment. Certain medications may interact with Macitent 10mg Tablet and can cause undesirable side effects.

Take Macitent 10mg tablets as your physician advises. Swallow the tablets whole and intact. This tablet should be taken with food. Your physician will decide the correct dosage and duration based on age, body weight, and disease condition. Only stop taking the medicine if your doctor advises you to stop.

• Your doctor may monitor your liver function and blood counts regularly during treatment.

• This medicine may reduce red blood cells and affect liver enzymes—report any unusual fatigue or yellowing of the skin.

• If you have lactose intolerance or soy allergy, let your doctor know before starting Macitent 10mg Tablet.

• Kidney patients should use this medicine cautiously, as it may lower blood pressure and hemoglobin levels.

• Inform your doctor if you're allergic to black pepper (piperine), as this could affect your response to the medication.
