Mitomet ML 40mg Injection is an antimetabolite drug belonging to the class of alkaloids cytotoxic agents containing the active ingredient Mitomycin. Mitomet ML 40mg uses for cancer treatment of various types like breast, pancreas, lungs and stomach. This injection is used alone or in combination with other anti-cancer medicines in combination with chemotherapy.

The common side effects that are likely to occur with this medicine are nausea, vomiting, tiredness, bruising, shortness of breath, and numbness. Other serious side effects include swelling of lips, severe lung disease, and kidney problems. Inform your physician if you face any of the symptoms. It is given right away or later with anticancer medicines.

It is an alkylating drug that works by interfering with genetic material (DNA)synthesis and the induction of DNA damage, leading to the death of cancer cells.

Interaction of Mitomet ML 40mg Injection with other drugs

  1. Cisplatin (Severe)
    Using Mitomet with cisplatin may increase the risk of kidney and bone marrow toxicity. This combination should be used only under strict medical supervision.

  2. Doxorubicin (Severe)
    Concurrent use may intensify heart and bone marrow related side effects. Close monitoring by your oncologist is essential.

  3. Bleomycin (Severe)
    Combining these medicines may worsen lung toxicity. Use together only if clearly required and monitored carefully.

  4. Cyclophosphamide (Moderate)
    This combination can increase the risk of low blood cell counts. Regular blood tests are advised during treatment.

  5. Vincristine (Moderate)
    Using both may enhance neurological side effects such as numbness or tingling. Inform your doctor if symptoms worsen.
