Introduction

Moficept 500mg Tablet, also known as Moficept 500, contains the active ingredient Mycophenolate mofetil. It is an immunosuppressant that belongs to the inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) inhibitor class. How Moficept 500mg works is by suppressing the immune system to prevent organ rejection in patients who have undergone organ transplants, including kidney, heart, or liver transplantation. This medicine is often prescribed as part of combination therapy with other immunosuppressive drugs to maintain the transplanted organ’s health.

Moficept 500mg for kidney transplant, Moficept 500mg for heart transplant, and Moficept 500mg for liver transplant are commonly used to prevent the body from rejecting the new organ. Patients or caregivers often check the Moficept 500mg price before starting treatment.

This drug is contraindicated during pregnancy due to the risk of birth defects and miscarriage. Women of reproductive age must use effective contraception while taking Moficept 500mg Tablet. Live vaccines should not be administered during treatment because of reduced vaccine effectiveness and increased risk of infection. Individuals on this medication should avoid donating blood during treatment and for at least six weeks after stopping to ensure the drug is fully cleared from the body.

Moficept 500mg Tablet works by inhibiting the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) and reducing the production of guanosine nucleotides. MMF specifically affects the proliferation of activated T and B lymphocytes. These lymphocytes are key players in the immune response that can lead to the rejection of a transplanted organ

Interaction of Moficept 500mg Tablet with other drugs

Inform your doctor about all your medicines, such as over-the-counter medications, prescription medications, vaccinations, nutritional and vitamin supplements, and herbal products. Certain groups of medications may interact with the effects of Moficept 500mg Tablet and reduce its effectiveness by causing undesirable side effects.

  • Keep the medicine away from the reach of children and pets.
