Introduction
Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is supplied as a single-dose pre-filled pen containing Semaglutide 2.4 mg/0.75 mL and is intended for once-weekly subcutaneous use.
Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection is indicated for chronic weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one weight-related health condition. It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. It is a prescription medicine and should be used under medical supervision.
Uses of Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection
Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection may be prescribed for:
Chronic weight management: Semaglutide may be used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help reduce excess body weight and maintain weight reduction in the long term.
Weight-related health conditions: It may be prescribed for adults who are overweight or obese and have one or more weight-related health conditions, as determined by the doctor.
The dose is selected and adjusted by the doctor based on the individual's response and treatment goals. Do not change the dose without medical advice.
How Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection works
Semaglutide works in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation and can increase feelings of fullness and reduce hunger and food cravings. This can reduce calorie intake and support weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Semaglutide also slows stomach emptying, which can contribute to a longer-lasting feeling of fullness after eating.
Interactions of Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection with other medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are taking before starting Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection.
Insulin and medicines that increase insulin release: Semaglutide may increase the risk of low blood sugar when used with insulin or insulin secretagogues. Your doctor may adjust the dose of these medicines.
Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide can delay stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.
Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Do not use Noveltreat with another Semaglutide-containing medicine unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Concomitant use with another GLP-1 receptor agonist is not recommended.
Storage Conditions
Store Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.
Do not freeze.
Protect the pen from light.
Keep it out of reach of children.
Do not use the medicine if it has been frozen or if the solution appears unsuitable for use.
Follow the storage and disposal instructions provided with the product packaging.
How to Use
Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection once weekly, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be injected into areas such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate the injection site when possible.
The product is supplied as a single-dose pre-filled pen designed to deliver 2.4 mg of Semaglutide. Your doctor or healthcare professional should show you how to use the pen before your first injection. Do not inject it into a vein or muscle.
Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Noveltreat should not be used during pregnancy unless specifically advised by a doctor. If you become pregnant while using Semaglutide, contact your doctor promptly. Women planning a pregnancy should discuss treatment with their doctor beforehand. Semaglutide should generally be stopped at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy because it remains in the body for a prolonged period.
Breast Feeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection. Your doctor will decide whether treatment is appropriate based on your individual circumstances.
Lungs
Semaglutide does not have specific routine lung-related precautions. Tell your doctor about any significant respiratory condition and inform your healthcare team if you are scheduled for surgery or a procedure requiring general anaesthesia or deep sedation.
Liver
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease before starting Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection. Your doctor will decide whether any additional monitoring or treatment adjustments are needed.
Alcohol
Alcohol may worsen gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting. If you have diabetes or other health conditions affected by alcohol, discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor before using Noveltreat.
Driving
Noveltreat does not usually affect the ability to drive. However, dizziness or low blood sugar may occur, particularly when Semaglutide is used with medicines that can cause low blood sugar. Do not drive if you experience symptoms that affect your concentration or alertness.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Noveltreat 2.4mg Injection may include:
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Constipation
Abdominal pain
Reduced appetite
Headache
Fatigue
These effects may be more common when treatment is started or the dose is increased and may improve as the body adjusts.
Seek medical attention if you develop severe or persistent abdominal pain, particularly if it spreads to the back, as this may be a sign of pancreatitis. Gallbladder-related problems can also occur with Semaglutide treatment.
