Somalinx LAR 30mg Injection. P acetate, a cyclic octapeptide agent, inhibits growth hormone, glucagon, and insulin more effectively than the natural hormone somatostatin. The drug also reduces growth hormone and IGF-I (somatomedin C) in acromegaly, inhibits gallbladder contractions, reduces bile secretion, and suppresses thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) secretion.
Interaction of Somalinx LAR 30mg Injection with other drugs
Insulin and other antidiabetic medicines (Injection/Oral Route) – Life-threatening
Use only under strict medical supervision.
Octreotide can alter blood sugar levels and may increase the risk of severe hypoglycaemia or hyperglycaemia. Dose adjustment of antidiabetic medicines may be required.Beta blockers such as Atenolol or Metoprolol (Oral Route) – Moderate
Use with caution.
Concomitant use may slow the heart rate further and increase the risk of bradycardia.Calcium channel blockers such as Verapamil or Diltiazem (Oral Route) – Moderate
