Introduction to Sulbamed 1gm Injection

Sulbamed 1 mg injection contains an active component of sulbactum sodium. It is a semi-synthetic beta-lactamase inhibitor antibiotic. It has good inhibitory activity against beta-lactamase enzyme-producing bacteria. Hence, it is most commonly used with other antibiotics to treat various drug-resistant bacteria. However, this injection alone has a direct antimicrobial activity against the Acinetobacter species, Bacteroides fragilis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, and Neisseria meningitidis.

Do not take this medication if you are allergic to penicillin or other antibiotics. Avoid this medication if you are affected by mononucleosis (a viral infection). Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhoea (CDAD) is the most common side effect reported during this treatment. Tell your doctor if you are taking probenecid since it may reduce the effectiveness of the treatment with sulbactam. Do not take this medicine with other medications unless advised by your doctor. Always give your doctor a detailed account of your medical history and medications and follow-up regularly while receiving treatment.

Interaction of Sulbamed 1gm Injection with other drugs

Inform your physician about all the prescribed medicine, over-the-counter medications, nutritional or vitamin supplements, and herbal supplements you have taken before. Word of Advice

Serious and fatal hypersensitivity (allergic reaction) will occur if you are allergic to beta-lactam antibiotics. Hence, inform your doctor if you get any symptoms of allergic reactions, like rashes, itching, or difficulty breathing. Sulbamed 1mg injection is prescribed when you have proven or strongly suspected bacterial infection; otherwise, you may have the risk of developing drug-resistant bacteria. Take the injection exactly as directed. If you miss any doses, the efficiency of the treatment could be compromised, and there is a greater chance that the bacteria will become resistant to Sulbamed 1mg injection and other antibacterial medications.

Overdosage of this medication may cause neurological adverse reactions, including convulsions (fits). The dosage and frequency of the injection differ from those of adults in elderly patients due to their poor renal function and, hence, require close monitoring. You could ensure a secure and effective treatment experience with this medication by following these safety measures and discussing any concerns with your healthcare professional.
