• Treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma multiforme (in adults)

• Treatment of refractory or relapsed anaplastic astrocytoma (in patients above 3 years of age)

Temozorix 100mg Injection is a type of alkylating agent. Once in the body, it enters the brain and targets cancer cells. It damages their genetic material (DNA and RNA), which stops them from growing, dividing, and spreading to other parts of the body. This helps slow down or shrink the tumor.

Temozorix can interact with several medications, especially those that affect the bone marrow, immune system, or blood cell counts. Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take, especially:

• Pegfilgrastim, Lenograstim, Molgramostim, Sargramostim – may increase bone marrow toxicity if used too close to Temozorix.

• Natalizumab – may increase the risk of serious infections when used together.

• Any live vaccines – should be avoided during treatment.

• Keep Temozorix Capsule out of sight and reach of children.
• Store protected from light and moisture.
• Do not store above 25°C.

Temozorix is given as an injection into a vein by a doctor or a trained nurse. It is not for self-administration. The dosage and treatment schedule depend on your body weight, overall health, and the stage of your cancer. Your doctor will also perform regular blood tests to monitor your blood counts and organ functions.

Side effects are unwanted symptoms caused by medicines. Even though all drugs cause side effects, not everyone gets them.

Serious:

• Secondary cancer like myelodysplastic syndrome and myeloid leukemia.
• Severe Allergic reactions
• Inflammation and fluid buildup in lungs
• Blood clot in lungs or legs
• Liver toxicity
• Convulsions
• Fever and chills
• Severe headache
• Uncontrolled bleeding

Common:

• Hair loss
• Rashes
• Tiredness
• Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea
• Constipation
• High blood sugar levels
• Dizziness, impaired sensation, tingling sensation, abnormal taste
• Vision and Hearing problem
• Frequent urination
• Muscle damage, pain in muscles and joints
• Weight changes
• Infections and wounds
• Amnesia
• Abnormal blood cell counts
• Loss of appetite
• Sleep problems
• Memory loss
• Difficulty concentrating, changes in mental status and alertness
• Coordination problems

• Do not skip doses. Follow your doctor’s schedule strictly.

• Do not open or tamper with the vial.

• Tell your healthcare provider if you experience any new or worsening symptoms.

• Avoid pregnancy during treatment and follow your doctor’s advice on contraception.

• Make sure to attend all follow-up appointments for blood tests and scans.
