Upadoz 30mg Tablet is a prescription medicine used to manage various autoimmune and inflammatory conditions in adults. It belongs to the class of Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitors and works by reducing the activity of certain enzymes involved in immune system signalling. By targeting abnormal immune activity, Upadacitinib helps relieve symptoms such as inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and pain.

Its oral tablet form makes it more convenient compared to injectable biologics, offering long-term disease control and improved quality of life. However, regular monitoring of blood counts, liver function, and cholesterol is necessary during treatment, as it may increase the risk of infections such as tuberculosis, herpes zoster, or pneumonia. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding without medical advice, and patients with a history of heart disease, cancer, blood clots, or chronic infections should inform their doctor before starting therapy.

• Treatment of moderate to severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in adults who did not respond well to other medicines.

• Management of Psoriatic Arthritis in adults with an inadequate response to conventional therapies.

• Treatment of moderate to severe Atopic Dermatitis in adults who are candidates for systemic therapy.

• Treatment of active Ankylosing Spondylitis in adults who did not respond adequately to conventional therapies.

• Treatment of moderately to severely active Ulcerative Colitis in adults who have had an inadequate response or intolerance to other medicines.

In autoimmune diseases, the body’s immune system becomes overactive and attacks its own tissues, causing inflammation and damage. Upadacitinib inhibits Janus kinase (JAK) enzymes, which are responsible for transmitting signals that activate inflammation. Blocking these signals reduces immune system overactivity, lowers inflammation, and helps control symptoms of chronic inflammatory conditions.

Inform your doctor if you are taking any:

• Prescription medicines (especially biologics, immunosuppressants, or corticosteroids).

• Over-the-counter (OTC) drugs.

• Herbal products or vitamin supplements.

Some medicines may increase the risk of infections, liver injury, or other side effects when taken with Upadacitinib. Always share your full medication history with your physician.

• Store at room temperature (15–30°C).

• Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight.

• Do not use expired or damaged medication.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

• Usually taken once daily, with or without food.

• Swallow the tablet whole; do not crush or chew.

• Your doctor will decide the dose based on your condition and overall health.

Serious:

• Severe infections (tuberculosis, pneumonia, shingles)

• Blood clots (in legs or lungs)

• Chest pain, shortness of breath

• Severe stomach pain or black stools

• Allergic reactions (rash, swelling of face/lips, difficulty breathing)

• Liver problems (yellowing of eyes/skin, dark urine)

Common:

• Nausea

• Cough

• Fever

• Headache

• Stomach pain

• Tiredness

• Upper respiratory tract infections

• Acne.

• Do not start treatment if you have an active infection.

• Your doctor may test for tuberculosis and hepatitis before starting therapy.

• Routine blood tests (liver, kidney, cholesterol, blood counts) are required during treatment.

• Inform your doctor if you are scheduled for vaccinations, as live vaccines are not recommended while on Upadacitinib.

• Always take the medicine as directed; do not stop suddenly without consulting your physician.
