Hepaglide 0.5mg Injection may be prescribed for:

• Type 2 diabetes mellitus: Semaglutide may be used along with diet and exercise to help improve blood glucose control.

• Chronic weight management: Semaglutide may be prescribed along with diet and physical activity as part of a long-term weight management plan.

The dose is selected and adjusted by the doctor based on the individual's condition, response to treatment, and treatment goals. Do not change the dose without medical advice.

Semaglutide works in a similar way to the natural hormone GLP-1. It increases insulin release when blood glucose levels are high and reduces glucagon release, which helps lower blood glucose levels.

It also slows stomach emptying and acts on areas of the brain involved in appetite regulation. This can increase feelings of fullness and reduce food intake, which can support weight management when combined with a suitable diet and physical activity.

• Insulin and sulfonylureas: Using Semaglutide with insulin or medicines such as sulfonylureas can increase the risk of low blood sugar. Your doctor may adjust the dose of these medicines.

• Other diabetes medicines: Tell your doctor about all medicines used to control blood glucose so that your treatment can be monitored safely.

• Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide can slow stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.

• Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not use Hepaglide with another Semaglutide-containing medicine or another GLP-1 receptor agonist unless your doctor specifically advises you to do so.

• Store the unopened pen in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C.

• Do not freeze.

• Protect the pen from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

• After first use, follow the storage period and temperature conditions stated on the product packaging.

• Do not store the pen with the needle attached.

• Discard the pen after the maximum recommended period after first use.

Hepaglide 0.5mg Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection once weekly, exactly as prescribed by your doctor. It can be injected into areas such as the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm. Rotate the injection site when possible.

Use a new needle for each injection. Do not share the pen or needles with another person, even if the needle is changed.

Common side effects of Hepaglide 0.5mg Injection may include:

• Nausea

• Vomiting

• Diarrhoea

• Constipation

• Abdominal pain

• Decreased appetite

• Indigestion

• Headache

• Fatigue

These effects are more common when treatment is started or the dose is increased and may improve as the body adjusts.

Seek medical attention if you develop severe or persistent abdominal pain, especially if it spreads to the back, as this may be a sign of pancreatitis. People with diabetes who have a history of diabetic retinopathy should also be monitored for changes in their eye condition.

• Use Hepaglide 0.5mg Injection once weekly on the day prescribed by your doctor.

• Do not increase the dose or change the weekly schedule on your own.

• Follow the dose selected by your doctor based on your treatment plan.

• Eat smaller meals if you experience nausea or early fullness.

• Drink enough fluids, particularly if vomiting or diarrhoea occurs.

• Follow the diet and physical activity plan recommended by your healthcare professional.

• Tell your doctor if you have a history of pancreatitis, diabetic retinopathy, gallbladder problems, or severe gastrointestinal problems.

• If you use insulin or a sulfonylurea, learn the symptoms of low blood sugar and follow your doctor's advice on monitoring.
