Introduction
Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. It is supplied as a single-dose pre-filled pen containing Semaglutide 1.7 mg/0.75 mL and is intended for subcutaneous use once weekly. It is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection is used for long-term weight management in adults with obesity or overweight with certain weight-related health conditions. It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Uses of Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection
Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection may be prescribed for:
Long-term weight management: It is used along with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity to help adults with obesity or overweight achieve and maintain weight loss.
Weight-related health conditions: It may be used in adults who are overweight or obese and have one or more weight-related health conditions, such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or abnormal cholesterol levels.
The dose is increased gradually according to the treatment schedule prescribed by the doctor. Do not change the dose without medical advice.
How Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection works
Semaglutide acts like the natural hormone GLP-1 in the body. It acts on areas involved in appetite regulation, helping reduce hunger and food cravings while increasing the feeling of fullness. This can reduce calorie intake and support weight loss when combined with a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Semaglutide also slows stomach emptying, which can contribute to a longer-lasting feeling of fullness after meals.
Interactions of Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection with other medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines, vitamins, supplements, and herbal products you take before starting Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection.
Insulin and certain diabetes medicines: The risk of low blood sugar may increase when Semaglutide is used with insulin or medicines such as sulfonylureas.
Medicines taken by mouth: Semaglutide delays stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of some oral medicines.
Other Semaglutide-containing medicines: Do not use Noveltreat with another Semaglutide-containing medicine unless specifically advised by your doctor.
Other GLP-1 receptor agonists: Concomitant use with another GLP-1 receptor agonist is not recommended.
Storage Conditions
Store Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze the medicine. Protect the pen from light and keep it out of the reach of children. Follow the storage instructions provided with the product.
How to Use
Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection is administered as a subcutaneous injection once a week. It can be injected into the abdomen, thigh, or upper arm and can be used at any time of the day, with or without food. Use it on the same day each week as advised by your doctor.
Your doctor or healthcare professional should show you how to use the pre-filled pen before you administer it yourself. Do not inject Noveltreat into a vein or muscle
Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are planning to become pregnant, discuss Semaglutide treatment with your doctor. Semaglutide should be discontinued at least 2 months before a planned pregnancy.
Breast Feeding
Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding before using Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection. Your doctor will decide whether treatment should be continued or avoided based on your individual circumstances.
Lungs
Noveltreat does not have a specific routine lung-related restriction. However, tell your doctor about any significant respiratory condition. Also inform your healthcare team that you are using Semaglutide before surgery or a procedure requiring anaesthesia or deep sedation because it can delay stomach emptying.
Liver
Tell your doctor if you have liver disease before using Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection. Your doctor will assess whether any additional monitoring is needed.
Alcohol
Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor while using Noveltreat. Alcohol may worsen nausea and other gastrointestinal symptoms and may affect appetite and blood sugar levels.
Driving
Noveltreat does not usually affect the ability to drive. However, dizziness or low blood sugar can occur, particularly when Semaglutide is used with insulin or certain diabetes medicines. Do not drive if you feel dizzy or develop symptoms that affect your alertness.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Noveltreat 1.7mg Injection may include:
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhoea
Constipation
Stomach or abdominal pain

These effects are generally more common during dose escalation and may improve as the body adjusts to treatment.
