Introduction
Obesema 1.7mg Injection contains Semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist. It is a prescription injection used for type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic weight management in eligible adults.
The 1.7 mg strength is part of the gradual Semaglutide dose-escalation pathway for weight management and may be continued or adjusted according to the prescribed treatment plan.
Uses
Obesema 1.7mg Injection is used:
To improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise.
For chronic weight management in eligible adults with obesity or overweight with a weight-related health condition.
How Obesema 1.7mg Injection Works
Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors involved in blood glucose and appetite regulation. It increases insulin release when glucose is elevated and reduces glucagon release.
It also slows stomach emptying and increases fullness, which can help reduce food intake.
Interaction of Obesema 1.7mg Injection with Other Medicines
Tell your doctor about all medicines you take.
Insulin and sulfonylureas: May increase the risk of low blood sugar.
Oral medicines: Delayed stomach emptying can affect the absorption of some oral medicines.
Other Semaglutide or GLP-1 receptor agonists: Do not combine them unless specifically advised.
Storage Conditions
Store Obesema according to the product instructions.
Refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C before use unless otherwise specified.
Do not freeze.
Protect from light.
Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
How to Use
Obesema 1.7mg Injection is generally administered once weekly by subcutaneous injection into the abdomen, thigh or upper arm.
The dose should be increased gradually and only according to your doctor's instructions. Do not increase or decrease the dose yourself.
Safety Advice
Pregnancy
Semaglutide should not be used for weight management during pregnancy. It should generally be stopped at least 2 months before planned pregnancy.
Breast Feeding
Semaglutide should not be used while breastfeeding because its safety for the breastfed baby has not been established.
Lungs
Tell your doctor before surgery or deep sedation because Semaglutide delays stomach emptying and may increase aspiration risk.

Discuss alcohol consumption with your doctor.

Dizziness or low blood sugar may affect your ability to drive.
