Introduction
Tanstrive 160mg tablet contains the active constituent Selpercatinib, which belongs to the family of targeted cancer medications known as kinase inhibitors. It blocks abnormal RET proteins that fuel tumour growth, by inhibiting wild-type RET and multiple mutated RET isoforms, along with VEGFR1 and VEGFR3. This tablet is used to treat certain lung, thyroid, and other RET-positive cancers by turning down the overactive RET signal that these tumours use to grow and spread.
Uses of Tanstrive 160mg
Tanstrive 160mg Tablet may be prescribed for selected cancers with RET gene alterations, including certain RET fusion-positive lung and thyroid cancers, RET-mutant medullary thyroid cancer and other eligible RET fusion-positive solid tumours.
How Tanstrive 160mg Tablet works
RET is a protein that signals cells to grow and divide. In certain cancers, changes in the RET gene lead to abnormal RET proteins that drive tumour growth. Tanstrive 160mg Tablet works by blocking this abnormal RET protein, so the cancer cannot grow and spread as easily.
