Introduction
Tucaone 150mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat a specific type of breast cancer called HER2-positive breast cancer, especially when it has spread to other parts of the body, including the brain. It is usually given along with two other medicines—trastuzumab and capecitabine.
Tucatinib in Tucaone 150mg Tablet works by blocking a protein (HER2) that helps cancer cells grow. By doing this, Tucatinib helps slow down or stop the cancer from spreading further.
Tucatinib is not a chemotherapy drug. It is a targeted therapy, which means it attacks cancer cells more specifically and causes less harm to healthy cells. It is given only with a doctor’s advice and regular checkups are needed during treatment to make sure the medicine is working safely.
Uses of Tucaone 150mg Tablet
Tucaone 150mg Tablet is used for:
-
HER2-positive advanced or metastatic breast cancer
-
Brain metastases in HER2+ breast cancer patients
-
Use in combination with trastuzumab and capecitabine after previous HER2-directed therapies
This therapy is typically considered when other standard HER2 treatments have become ineffective.
How it Works
Tucaone 150mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). It works by:
-
Specifically targeting the HER2 receptor, a protein that promotes cancer cell growth
-
Blocking HER2-related signalling pathways that drive tumour progression
-
Working synergistically with other anticancer drugs like trastuzumab and capecitabine
-
Crossing the blood-brain barrier to treat cancer that has spread to the brain
This focused mechanism helps slow disease progression while minimising impact on normal cells.
Interaction of Tucaone 150mg Tablet with Other Drugs
Inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements, or herbal products you are taking. Tucaone 150mg Tablet may interact with:
-

-
Anticonvulsants like phenytoin, carbamazepine
-
